    Scoop the Poop!

I recently heard that there is a new business niche andyou can hire someone to clean up animal feces. Dogdroppings are one of the leading causes of E. Colipollution: each gram of dog poop has over 20,000,000E. Coli colonies in it. Please be neighborly and beresponsible for your own animals.

    Post Oak Amenities Update

This years pool season started off on a badnote and a lot of our residents were quite upsetwith the lack of communication concerningopening day and our monitors. We have hadour share of ups and downs as you probablyhave been reading about.

Opening day I was down at the amenity centertrying to get in touch with Real Manage inAustin and the main office to find out why ourpool didnt open up as it should have. I madeseveral phone calls and nobody seemed to wantto return my calls. Finally the poolmaintenance crew showed up and they thoughtthey were supposed to shock the pool that day.Boy, talking about the lack of communicationfrom Real Manage to our maintenance crews. After telling them that our pool was suppose toopen up that day for Memorial Day, they calledtheir boss and he admitted that no suchcommunication had been relayed to him either. He in turn called Real Manage and theyconfirmed it and apologized for the mix up.

Then, of course we had our problems with poolmonitors. Boy did we have problems. Thefirst company had no idea what they were evensuppose to do and they were letting people inwithout keys, in street clothes, and even NON-residents. Well, they didnt last long. Then weget our second company. They were hired on aspur of the moment, trying to get somebody in

here that would do their job like they weresupposed to. They were doing a good job, butthey werent liked by some residents that feltthey were too stiff handed and arguments beganto occur between residents and the monitors. This monitoring company quit and againleaving us without pool monitors. Finally, weget a new company (Real Pool Management)hired over the weekend by Real Manage. Theywere well received and everyone seems to like

this company and hopefully they will returnnext season.

We have had 3 cases where the police werecalled for vandalism at the pool and amenitycenter. One of these was the damage done tothe ladies restroom. That was $320 to fix thedamages. Then we had vandals pry and destroy1 drain cover and stole one cover in the pool onAug.16th and then 2 more drain covers werereported for vandalism on Aug. 19th. The 3

vandalism that I have reported to the police andReal Manage has cost our residents over $1550.That doesnt sound like much to some people,

but that is equal to 4.5 residents HOA dues forthe year.

Since I have been very active at the pool on aregular basis this year and have been the onethat has found the damages each time, the

board has asked me to be the pool chairpersonin charge of contacting Real Manage and ourvendors when there is a problem. I have gladlyagreed to chair this position. I am part of agroup that we refer to as The Bad KneeGroup. We are there each morning doing ourexercises for our bad knees.LOL!!!

Iam planning on getting a head start on nextyears pool season with the help of somevolunteers and other board members to try toinsure that we dont have these problems next

year. With the help of all the residents andboard members, I hope we can alleviate theproblems we had during the 2011 pool season.

We had water issues this year, but now havenew equipment and that should help with nextyears water quality also. Our poolmaintenance crew has agreed to work with meBEFORE our 2012 pool season starts to try toensure a peaceful opening.
