    Ourname,KIPPNYCCollegePrep,signifiesoneofourprimaryobjectivesasaschooltodevelopthe

    academicandcharacterskillsnecessarytoattainacollegedegree. Currentlythemajorityofteenagers

    fromNewYorkCityneverattendcollege,andmanyoftheNYCstudentswhodostartcollegenever

    finish. BynamingourschoolKIPPNYCCollegePrep,werefusetoacceptthatmostNewYorkCity

    studentsarenotpreparedtostartandfinishcollege.OurbeliefisthateveryKIPPstercanearnacollege

    degree,which

    being

    self

    sufficient,

    our

    Attendancewillbetakenonalldaysthatschoolisinsessionduringthetraditionalschoolyear,

    DisciplineandDetentionPolicy

    KIPPNYCCollegePreprecognizesthateachindividualstudentmayhaveuniquechallengesfacingthem

    inandoutoftheclassroom.Becausewestrivetofindsolutionsforallofourstudents,avarietyof

    disciplinaryandsupportiveprogramsmaybeputinplace.Thesearenotlimitedto,butmayinclude:

    ProgressReport Aplanwherestudentshaveaprogressreporttargetingspecificbehaviorsand/or

    academicsupportthateachteacherfillsoutandtheparentssign.

    DetentionPolicyKIPPNYCCollegePrepHighSchoolhasimplementeddetentioninthedisciplinary

    policytodevelopandcorrectthebehaviorofstudents. Parentswillbenotifiedbeforeastudentis

    requiredtoservedetention. KIPPNYCCollegePrepusesthefollowingmethodsofdetention:

    KIPPNYCCollegePrepiscommittedtoprovidingeveryopportunityforstudentstosucceedacademically

    Advisories

    StudentswillbematchedupwithafacultymemberinanAdvisoryof1012students. Advisorswillmeet

    Throughoutthecourseoftheyear,mostextracurricularactivitiesandsportswillholdmajoreventsand

    competitions.SomeoftheseeventswilloccuronKIPPNYCCollegePrepscampus,whileotherswill

    occuroffsite.Regardlessofthelocation,undertheleadershipandguidanceoffacultyadvisor,students

    shouldbecognizantofthefactthattheyarerepresentativesofKIPPNYCCollegePrep,and

    harmtheiropponents. Wewillplaybytherules,andintheeventofalosswewillcongratulatethe
