Membership Update

• Current individual membership is just below 400

• Current Corporate Membership is 12 organisations

Standards & Ethics Committee Update

Members:• Chair: Jan Harrison• Members: Carole Chantler, Helen

Ainsworth, Catherine Chapman• Meets about three times a year, or

as required.

Standards & Ethics

• The original Standards of Practice were produced in 2005

• The Code of Ethics was then produced in 2008

• The group has since been focussing on the review of the Standards:

– this is almost finished – just final editing to complete

• The group has been asked by the Board to undertake the production of a CPD portfolio

– this has now started with initial drafts being considered

– this will form the basis of evidence of practice and experience for case managers

Education Committee Update

Our vision for the future is to devise and promote educational opportunities to enhance accreditation and establish case management as a qualified profession. We will facilitate and work in partnership with organisations and academic centres of excellence to enable case managers to acquire skills and knowledge to perform to CMSUK Standards of Practice.

Events undertaken 2008

• 7th May 2008 -Utilising Psychological Interventions Effectively within Case Management

• I day conference with 80 Delegates • Feedback 70% rated venues, admin, catering as

excellent• 80% scoring speakers as excellent or good.• 28th Sept 2008 Challenges with in Case

management Client Centred Care.• 1 Day interactive session with 20 delegates no

sponsorship• 100% rated excellent or good with 81% stating it

was thought provoking.• 13 and 14 November 2008 Annual

conference 2008 Moving Forwards• Excellent feedback 93% would return.• Excellent value for money a well organised

conference.• Have we learnt anything from the conference• Timing• Practical issues

Events 2009

• Annual Conference 2009 19 and 20 November 2009

• A Fresh Outlook• Focusing on facial head and neck

injuries with a variety of speakers from MOD NHS and private sectors.

• The initial response has been excellent with the bookings being far in advance at this stage than previous conferences in terms of stands and delegates.

• There's no need to commit to the newsletter as with other committees, it can be a one off

Case Manager of the Year Award 2009

• First ever CMSUK Award

• Award Criteria: ‘Good outcome from good practice.’

• Presentations to the top three will take place at the CMSUK Conference Dinner, 19th November 2009 where the overall winner will be announced.

• Closing date for nominations is Friday 28th August 2009.

• Don’t forget! As a Corporate Member you are eligible to send two people for the two days free of charge (not including accommodation or Dinner Dance).
