Change Agents For  ChristWhen Jesus was selecting His disciples, He did not recruit from the synagogue--which in those days was the formal center of Biblical learning. He recruited common men like fishermen and tax collectors. They were uneducated. Some were not very articulate. Others talked too much! Some had issues with temper--wanting to call fire down on unbelievers. They sometimes struggled in their faith. But Jesus was not looking at them as they were. He viewed them as they would be when their lives had been miraculously changed by the Gospel and they were endued with the power of the Holy Spirit. We are witnessing similar miracles around the world through prison ministries that are using the Harvestime materials--not only to reach inmates with the Gospel, but to train them to be mighty men and women of God. In this newsletter, we focus on the ministry at Mzuzu prison in the nation of Malawi.

"We recently graduated two groups of inmates from our Bible study and leadership program at Mzuzu Prison. A total of 52 inmates graduated. I would like to thank you for your support and prayers. The inmates participating in this program are being changed by God's Word. Being in prison is not viewed as the end. They now see it as a new beginning for them to become change agents for  Christ--not only while they are still in prison, but more so when they go back to their communities. They are crying for more Biblical training and, by God's grace, we intend to make this program ongoing to help our brothers behind bars. One of the inmates actually praised God that he came to prison because otherwise he would not have learned the things we teach. 'Had I not been in here,' he said, 'I would not have met God and experienced the saving power of Jesus Christ.' The Lord also has honored and promoted a prison chaplain who played a vital role in our program at Mzuzu Prison. He is now the Regional Chaplain for all prisons in Northern Malawi and has promised to help us even more in our programs."
