I tremble to think that I have to give an account of my tongue. There is life, but there is also death in the tongue. Sometimes we kill with the tongue: we commit real murders. And we are still to regard that as a small thing? I truly do not understand such consciences. I have known a person who, when she learned from someone that a certain thing was being said about her, fell seriously ill. Interested in becoming Catholic? St. Mary’s RCIA program will start again in the Fall! RCIA is the Church’s program for wel-coming non-Catholics who wish to learn about and join our Church. Fallen-away Catholics seeking to return to the faith are
also welcome. Anyone interested in participating in the RCIA program for 2015-2016 are encouraged to read the Gospel of Luke and Acts of the Apostles this summer, and mark your calendars for our first meeting which will be sometime in September. FOOD DONATIONS NEEDED
The recent Post Office Food Drive for the Scituate Food Pantry was not too success-ful collecting only about 400 bags of food. This was about 1/3 of what was collected

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, one of the central mysteries of our faith. We believe in one God in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God gradually revealed His true nature to us over time be-ginning in the Old Testament when He declared to the chosen people through Moses: “Hear O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord” (Dt. 6:4). In the gospels Jesus showed us the Father through His life and teachings and identified Himself with the Father. He also taught His disciples about the coming of the Holy Spirit, whom He would ask the Father to give to the Church and be with her forever. The Church gradually defined the doctrine of the Trinity in the first 600 years of her existence through six ecumenical councils. Although we believe this teaching it is difficult for us to understand and only in heaven will we begin to penetrate this mystery. However, it has relevance in our lives and in our self understanding because we are made in God’s image. The fact that God is a communion of Persons means we are made for communion, communion with God and with one another. The exaggerated individualism so popular in our culture is contrary to the Christian notion of who we are meant to be as human beings. We first experience communion in our families with our parents and siblings and through whom we experience com-munion with God. This communion is expanded and deepened when we gather together each Sunday at Mass as a com-munity of faith. Through the Scriptures and the Eucharist we enter into an intimate communion with Jesus and through Him in the Spirit with God our Father. Also, we become one with each other in Christ through the Eucharist because we all partake of the one Body of Christ. What we receive at Mass we are to take out into society and the workplace and build community by living the teachings of Christ and promoting the common good. Communion truly happens among the congregation but the size of the parish can sometimes hinder a sense of inti-macy. Here we see the importance in meeting in smaller groups like we do with “Why Be Catholic”, the Men’s group, Mom’s group etc. There also are movements within the Church which foster a greater sense of community. Some of these are: the Charismatic Renewal, Communion and Liberation, Cursillo, Focolare, the Neocatechumenal Way, etc. The fact that there are many movements means what appeals to one person may not appeal to another and vice versa. All of these movements are the fruit of the Holy Spirit that continues to guide and enliven the Church. During the Octave of Easter I was able to live a Cursillo weekend which went from Thursday evening to Sunday night. This was something I had wanted to do before I entered the seminary but it never seemed to work out. I thought it was just for lay people so I never gave it much thought but I was always impressed by the faith of those who had lived a Cursillo. Some parishioners told me it was not just for lay people and encouraged me to go and I am glad I did. Together with forty-nine other men (women and men meet separately) we learnt about our faith, we shared our faith and all of us experienced the love of God that is alive and which touched each one of us deeply. When I returned to the parish I was surprised by the number of parishioners who had lived a Cursillo, but I was not surprised that these are some of the most involved and active members of our parish. Perhaps the Lord is calling you to a deeper communion with Himself and others in the community. Be open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and see where He leads you.

In previous years, the Mass Intention Book for the following year would become available for booking Masses right after Labor Day. This year, however, we are changing that prece-dent and we will be opening up all of the 2016 Masses begin-ning on June 15, 2015.
MAY IS A MONTH DEVOTED TO OUR BLESSED MOTHER. Pray the rosary. "Make it a Family Prayer. Praying together will lead to filling daily life with images of salvation. While not the solution to every problem, it is a spiri-tual aid which should not be underestimated.
Such a prayer time is still a great way of bringing families to-gether, especially in our times, where the generation gap is widening due to technology and the fast pace of life. Young people should be encouraged to make the rosary their own prayer, so they can bring a freshness and vitality to it - as only they can.” (Pope John Paul II)

FRIDAY, JUNE 5TH IS FIRST FRIDAY. Every First Friday there is a basket for per-sonal petitions for those who trust in His Mercy. The basket is placed on the gift table before Mass. The petitions are brought to the priest along with the gifts at Offertory time.
The petition basket remains before the altar throughout the day...our petitions to Christ. You may put your petitions in the basket anytime during the day. Adoration and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will follow the 7:30 a.m. Mass and end with Evening Prayer and Benediction at 4.45 p.m.

SATURDAY, JUNE 6TH IS FIRST SATUR-DAY. Our Lady of Fatima asked us to make the First Saturday Communion of Reparation to her Immaculate Heart. Her promise: "I promise to assist at the moment of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive
months shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the rosary, and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the ro-sary, with the intention of making reparation to me."
ST. MARY’S PRAYER GROUP will be held on Thursday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel (changed to the first Thursday this month). ST MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION PARISH IN HULL 125TH ANNIVERSARY MASS ON THE BEACH
St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Hull would like to in-vite you to our 125th Anniversary Mass on the beach. On June 13th at 4:30 PM, Father Guy will celebrate Mass on A Street Beach in Hull. With our heritage as a seaside par-ish, it is a perfect location to honor the 125th anniversary of the parish, and the 100th anniversary of St. Ann’s Church. The Mass will be followed by a picnic dinner (bring your own), and beach games. Parishioners are invited to park in the church lot, and bring their own chairs and picnic to the beach. In addition to the games, there will also be an award for the person with the best picnic spread. In the event of rain, the Mass will be moved inside and we will announce a rain date.
