WHAT YOU NEEDSupply List and special Instructions

-Glue stick, I recommend the Zig brand.-Mod podge-Hot glue-Bone folding and scoring tool-X-acto knife. I recommend a #11 blade for this project-Scissors-Self-healing mat-Metal Ruler-Assorted pieces of scrapbook paper-Mat board or chip board. (If you don’t have this, ask your framing shop if they’ll sell scraps)-One 1/2 inch dowel, cut to 12 inches long.

-8 pieces of 2x4 lumber, cut as follows:

Round one end of each piece, using the pattern on the “back and sides” page as a template.

Cut 2- 6.5 inch pieces. Round one of them on BOTH ends. (These will be you base for Mary and Baby Jesus)

Cut 4- 8 inch pieces (3 wise men and Joseph)

Cut 2- 9 Inch pieces (Angel and Shepherd)

One 3.5x3.5x3.5 inch square block. Drill a 1/2 inch hole in the top of the block and fit the dowel into the hole. This will be the base for your star.

When cutting, I recommend this method:

Use your X-acto craft knife (use it with a metal ruler for straight lines) to cut the lettering, hair, and other small, tight lines. Use scissors to cut larger pieces.

Tip for using the craft knife to cut paper: Go slowly. Always use a sharp blade. Pretend the tip of your blade is a pencil point and “trace” the lines with the tip of your blade.

For the angel wings, trace your wing template twice on your mat board and use your craft knife to cut the shape out. Go slowly. It will take several passes with the knife to cut all the way through. Then using the same template cut 4 pieces of regular paper. Glue to both sides of the wings.

When gluing: Use a glue stick to glue all the paper together first. Glue all the small shapes onto your background until you have front, back and sides together. Then use Mod Podge to glue the bigger pieces to the wood. Use the photo provided for reference if you’re not sure what order the shapes go.

It goes without saying that some shapes need to be cut twice, like sleeves, some hands and hair. Refer to the photo on the cover if you’re not sure.

For durability, brush a layer of Mod Podge on the top surface of the figures.

Have fun with this project! It’s a large project but so worth it to have a fun, cute, and affordableNativity set!
