This message is NOT anti-trapping, it is hopefully to educate. Sheeba is a wonderful family pet and an outside dog

that comes in the house at night. She came up missing Dec. 31. We looked everywhere, very worried since the weather was to drop dan-gerously cold. We had given up hope and then Jan. 6 she showed up,

limping badly. She had been caught in a leg hold trap. The vet said no bones were broken but the frostbite and lack of circulation were a big concern. She had to have her front left leg amputated. Sheeba has a

wonderful spirit and is coping well. We suspect she was released from the trap by someone because the swelling in her paw would have pre-

vented her escape. We believe the vast majority of trappers are respon-sible folk. We encourage anyone that traps to follow the law and check

your traps every day. Our thanks to Nodaway Veterinary for their excellent care of Sheeba.
