1) Story

Saving enough money for retirement generates anxiety for many people as they work through their careers. Will I have enough? Am I saving enough? Are my investments performing well? In the past, people could rely on an employer pension and social security to provide for their needs in retirement. But now, individuals are increasingly responsible for managing their own investment savings across multiple investment accounts at multiple financial institutions.

The typical worker nearing retirement can have a variety of different investments accounts: employer 401k’s, personal IRA’s, and individual brokerage accounts. With savings spread out over multiple accounts, it is difficult to see the big picture. For a person to know exactly how much they have saved, they would have to log in to every account individually and gather the information. This can be a very time consuming process, and the individual investor is unlikely to monitor his or her savings with the attention it deserves.

The motivation for this Fiori app is to provide an investment account monitoring tool that will allow the individual investor to see all of his investment accounts in a single app. They will be able to see each account balance, holdings and performance over time. This will allow them to more proactively monitor their investments as they approach retirement.
