association with UK Society of Chi-

legal advisory for CCC members on

troduction of issues for consultation.

How to Join Membership 參加華人社區中心成為會員 本會會員可以參與由本中心提供的興趣班 , 工作坊及服務 . 會費每年£12, 有效期為每年 4 月 1 日至次年 3 月 31 日 . 青少年會員 ( 年齡介乎 11-18 歲 ), 會費每年£8, 有效期為每年 7 月 1日至次年 6 月 30 日。有興趣申請人士 , 連同以下資料 , 到本中心填寫報名表格即可 :* 申請入會時須携帶 2 張近照 ( 護照相片 )* 身份證明 ( 如護照、車牌等 )* 地址證明 ( 如稅單、銀行信等 )會費是華人社區中心的主要收入來源之一 , 以便應付中心的日常開支 , 維修管理 , 以及投放更多資源來回饋會員及華人社區。

To join our classes, workshops & services you have to become a member. Membership costs £12 and lasts one year from 1st April until 31st March. Youth membership (11-18) costs £8 and lasts one year from 1st July until 30th June.

To become a member. You will need to bring 2 passport photos for you membership card and a proof of ID & address.

Membership is an essential source of funding for the Chinese Community Centre that enables the day-to-day running of the centre, maintenance of the buildings, as well as investment in our services to support members of the wider community.

　　 倫 敦 華 人社區中心 12 月14 日在中心舉行 會 員 生 日 及聖 誕 聯 歡 會，逾百會員出席。中 心 職 員 及 義工 扮 演 聖 誕 老人、 麋 鹿 及 聖誕 樹 為 與 會 者唱 生 日 歌、 聖誕 歌， 又 分 發生 日 蛋 糕， 派送 抽 獎 禮 物，令聯歡會氣氛熱鬧溫馨、其樂融融。　　聯歡會首先為八位分別於 10 月、11 月及 12 月生日的會員與大家齊唱生日歌，在收穫大家祝福的同時，每人均獲贈精美生日禮物一份。　　聯歡會當日精彩節目令與會者目不暇接，油燜大蝦、燒味拼盤等，六道精美菜式讓大家大飽口福，飯後美味的生日蛋糕及蘋果、雪梨更是畫龍點睛。隨後抽獎環節將聯歡會的氣氛推向高潮。特別感謝會員陳寶珠捐出的頭獎咖啡機、丘玉梅捐出 20 鎊現金獎。　　贊助商沙士比利公用華埠事務總監韋爾頓（Thomas Welton）、中國銀行（倫敦中國城分行）代表等親臨現場為長者送上誠摯的節日祝福！另特別銘謝唐人街泗和行、皇朝集團對本次活動的大力支持及贊助。

「銀髮周日」是全英一年一度為長者而設的活動日，意在解決長者孤獨問題。尊老愛幼是中華民族的傳統美德，倫敦華人社區中心連同西敏市政府攜手為銀髮長者於華人社區中心會址舉辦了「銀髮周日活動」活動。 當天中午 12 時有 50 多位來自不同背景人士到來參與，活動內容包括太極拳示範，太極老師帶領眾長者一起打太極拳，書法示範表演令很多人讚嘆不已，大家還有機會親手為自己寫上中文名字，以及參與中式料理的製作。

聖誕生日聯歡會

10 月 1 日「銀髮周日活動」

London Chinese Community Center

(CCC) held Birthday and Christmas Party

on 14 December 2017. Near a hundred

members attended the celebration in

which staff and volunteers played the role

of Santa Claus, sung birthday and Christ-

mas songs and distributed birthday cakes

and lucky draw presents, warming up the

atmosphere.

The party started from celebrating

birthday for 8 CCC members whose date

of birth is on October, November and De-

cember. Receiving sincere wishes, each

member was presented a birthday gift as

well.

The party turned out to be a feast

where fresh fruits boosted people’s appe-

tite and six scrumptious dishes became

a treat for the palate. The lucky draw that

followed was the climax of the party. Spe-

cial thanks to CCC Members Ms. Chan

for offering a coffee maker and Ms. Mei

Yau donated£20 for cash prize.

It was our honor that our sponsors,

Thomas Welton, Executive Director at

Shaftesbury PLC, and a representative

from the Bank of China (London China-

town Branch) joined the party and ex-

tended their best wishes. Specials thanks

to SeeWoo Supermarket and Royal

China Group for their generous supports

to this event.

On the 1st October the Chinese Com-

munity Centre welcomed the general public

to host ‘Silver Sunday.’

Silver Sunday is an annual day of fun

and free activities for older people across

the UK. Led by The Sir Simon Milton Foun-

dation, it celebrates the value and knowl-

edge they contribute to our communities

while combating loneliness and isolation.

The day saw over 50 people from all

backgrounds join in activities such as Chi-

nese calligraphy, where they could learn

how to write their name in Chinese, prac-

tice Tai Chi (a form of martial arts mainly

practiced by the elderly because of its slow

movements), and there was a Cantonese

cooking class where people could learn how

to cook Chinese food the Cantonese way.

「每逢佳節倍思親」，這句詩是很多海外華僑的深刻體會。很多華人都會趁著中秋節的來臨與家人聚首共慶團圓。倫敦華人社區中心10月5日假華埠新龍鳳大酒樓，舉行中秋聯歡會，超過一百二十人出席，場面十分熱鬧。 倫敦華人社區中心主席丘玉雲 MBE 首先在致詞中，向與會者送上美好的節日祝福。她又表示施比受更有福，感謝社區各界人士能攜手讓社會的弱勢社群分亨中秋佳節的溫暖和喜悅，亦令這群組度過一個愉快的中秋。新任中心經理董婷婷續簡介了中心的多元服務，並隆重宣布中心午餐會於 10 月 10 日重啟，為會員及廣大市民提供「三菜一湯」，價格低廉但美味、營養均衡的午餐。 聯歡會隨後在王晨老師高雅清幽的歌聲中拉開帷幕。她獨唱 的「 好 一 朵 茉 莉花 」 令 聽 者 浮 想 連篇；華人社區中心合唱團隨即合唱的世界名曲《雪絨花》、《哎呀媽媽》極大活躍了現場氣氛；程玉老師表演的琵琶獨奏引人入勝，高潮處仿若「大珠小珠落玉盤」；粵劇卡拉 OK《帝女花》之香夭更是引得全場戲迷票友的唱和。最後幸運大抽獎及愛心月餅拍賣，將現場氣氛推向高潮！ 聯歡會當日氣氛熱鬧溫馨，精彩節目令與會者目不暇接，十道精美點心讓大家大飽口福，又每人均獲贈月餅一枚慶度佳節。 贊 助 商 沙 士 比 利 華 埠 市 業 總 監 韋 爾 頓（Thomas Welton）、拿破崙娛樂事業經理 Jeremy Cummins、中國銀行（倫敦中國城分行）代表等親臨現場跟長者賀節，送上誠摯的祝福！另特別銘謝：泗和行、新龍門行、中國銀行、東亞銀行及順風食品供應對本次活動的大力支持及贊助。

Autumn Festival. At the Lon-

Centre the members feel like

family, so to celebrate the Mid-

Autumn festival, a party was

held at the New Loon Fung

restaurant on the 5th October.

More than 120 people

attended the festive event.

Chairwoman of CCC Christine

Yau MBE wished everyone

a happy Mid-Autumn Festi-

val and expressed her deep

gratitude for those who offered

their generous support to the

people in need. New man-

ager of CCC, Tingting Dong,

introduced the center’s new

services and announced that

the Community Lunch, provid-

ing affordable and scrumptious

food, would be launched on

10th October.

Chen Wang’s beauti-

ful songs kicked off the get-

together. Mo Li Hua captured

people’s attention and inspired

their imagination. Edelweiss

performed by CCC Choir and

Yu Cheng’s Pipa solo greatly

enlivened the atmosphere and

the Cantonese Opera Di Nü

Hua turned out to be a cho-

rus. The final raffle draw and

the luxury moon cake auction

brought the party to an end.

The feast was extremely

enjoyable and everyone at-

tended received a moon cake

as a gift.

This advice applies to England

Eligibility :

* You can get Attendance Allowance if you’re 65 or over and the

following apply:

* you have a physical disability (including sensory disability, for e.g.

blindness), a mental disability (including learning difficulties), or

both.

Your disability is severe enough for you to need help caring for

yourself or someone to supervise you, for your own or someone

else’s safety.

Lots of people are entitled to Attendance Allowance but don’t know

enough about it to claim. You could get £55.65 or £83.10 a week -

the amount you get will depend on how much help you need. You

can spend the money however you like.

Attendance Allowance isn’t means tested so it doesn’t matter what

other money you get. It doesn’t matter how much you have in sav-

ings either - there’s no limit. It won’t affect your state pension and

you can claim it if you’re still working and earning money.

You’ll need to complete a long claim form when you apply for At-

tendance Allowance. It might seem daunting at first but help is

available from our centre.

Attendance Allowance and your other benefitsClaiming Attendance Allowance might also mean you’re entitled to

extra help - for example, you might qualify for a council tax reduc-

tion (this depends on your personal circumstances).

Conditions

You must also:* be in Great Britain when you claim - there are some exceptions,

such as members and family members of the armed forces

* have been in Great Britain for at least 2 of the last 3 years (this

doesn’t apply if you’re a refugee or have humanitarian protection

status)

* be habitually resident in the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man or the Chan-

nel Islands

* not be subject to immigration control (unless you’re a sponsored

immigrant)

Information and Advice 資料及諮詢服務 We provide a free, confidential and impartial information and advice service

which covers the following areas: Welfare

benefits, Housing issues, Employment,

Education, Health, Family and personal.

This service includes one-to-

one Centre based advice sessions,

outreach visits to housebound and

vulnerable people, organised talks and

translated leaflets covering Welfare

benefits, Housing and Health issues.

The staffs are experts in this field,

providing independent and confidential

advise to those in need with the aim to

advise and promote self-confidence and independence.

During 2008/09, we helped to secure

a total of £424,000 of Welfare Benefit

for individual Chinese people and their

families. This is recognised by all in

the community to be an important and

invaluable service.

倫敦華人社區中心足球隊 2017 年第四季度中心男子足球隊穩步前進，與倫敦大學亞非學院的職員隊伍進行了友誼賽。混合足球隊則變得更強，朝著冠軍的目標奮鬥。大家加油！如果你對男子或混合足球隊感興趣的話，請電郵 alan.lau@ccc.org.uk 與 Alan 聯絡。

This quarter saw little competitive football for the Men’s Team but there were friendlies with a team from

the staff at SOAS University and also internal friendly competitions. The Mixed team has gone from strength to

strength, finishing 3rd last season and going on an unbeaten run this season and heading for a championship finish! Well done team! If you are interested in either the Men’s football or the Mixed team, please contact the manager Alan

CCC Intersports Football Tournament October saw the first CCC intersports football competition which pitted the CCCFC (Mens and Womens) teams with the Turtles and Youth Club in a 5 a side tournament. The Premiership

Cup was won by CCCFC B Team and the Championship Cup was won by the Youth A Team.

　　倫敦華人社區中心海龜龍舟隊於 2017年秋天進行了首次訓練，與 Typhoon 隊一起為 Henley winter series 做準備。訓練雖然辛苦但龍舟隊在 40 分鐘內就完成了 7.5公里的路程。龍舟隊亦熱烈歡迎了新的聯合隊長 Ken On、Lucia Lui 及 Hudson Sin，相信在新隊長的帶領下，龍舟隊的成績在今年會有一個質的飛躍。

CCC Turtles For the first time the CCC turtles trained over the Autumn pe-

riod in preparation for the Henley winter series where we joined

forces with Typhoon for a 7.5k race. The training was tough at

times however on the day we did ever so well finishing in un-

der 40mins. We also welcomed new co-captain’s to the team

Ken On/Lucia Lui & Hudson Sin and watch this space as the

turtles will push on for more glory in 2018.

　　去年有許多新的成員加入倫敦華人社區中心慢跑俱樂部。為迎接 2018 年的到來，慢跑俱樂部成員於 Y Ming 餐廳舉行了聖誕聚會。我們希望在新的一年裏慢跑俱樂部成員能更頻繁的加入慢跑活動，為參加半程馬拉松做準備。如有興趣參加於每週三傍晚六時四十五分由倫敦華人社區中心出發的慢跑俱樂部，可直接聯絡中心。

CCC Running Club The CCC running group has welcomed

more members over the course of the year

and enjoyed the longer distances as people

built up their stamina. To celebrate the end

of year members had a Christmas gather-

ing at Y Ming and had an amazing time.

We aim to meet at the Saturday Park

runs more frequently with a few mem-

bers in preparation mode for half

marathons. If interested, we run

every Wednesday from 6.45 pm

onwards leaving at the center.

YOUTH CLUB NEWS

逛冬日樂園、享滑冰樂趣

During the Halloween activities the youth club partnered with Fitzrovia

Youth In Action to produce a video about drug awareness. The youth mem-

bers created the story and acted in the video while the filmmakers from FYA shot the performance.

Youth members also spent time learning about drugs and the effects they

have. They then presented what they learnt to each other. On the final day of the activities youth members were then rewarded with a trip to Oxygen tram-

poline park and the cinema to watch Thor: Ragnarok. You can see the video

our youth members on our YouTube channel.

Continuing the Christmas spirit Youth members

braved the cold and visited Winter Wonderland at

Hyde Park. Youth members went on rides, played

some fair games and ate German bratwurst. After-

wards they went to the outside ice rink and went ice-

skating.

青少年俱樂部成員無懼寒冷，一起在冬日樂園裏玩遊戲、分享美食，之後更去了滑冰場享受滑冰的樂趣。萬聖節活動

　　2017 年萬聖節中心青少年俱樂部與 Fitzrovia Youth In Action 合作製作了一部關於提高對毒品的認識的宣傳視頻。青少年俱樂部的成員編寫了劇本並出演了其中的角色，Fitzrovia Youth In Action 負責拍攝工作。通過這次拍攝，青少年俱樂部的成員亦加深了對毒品及其危害的認識。　　在完成了拍攝工作後青少年俱樂部的成員去了倫敦有氧自由蹦床公園並在電影院觀看了《雷神奇俠 3：諸神黃昏》。這部宣傳視頻可以在中心青少年俱樂部的 YouTube 頻道上觀看。

The Chinese community centre youth football

team participated in a ZA sports tournament. They

travelled to Hanwell to find out that they would play against people over age 14. All the youths were

very excited and were all well prepared to play.

They played a total of four games.

Even though our youth team played against old-

er people, the youths managed to pull out a 1-0 win,

a 0-0 draw and they lost two other games. Sadly,

this was not enough to get out of the group stages.

The youths still went home happy to know that they

participated in a difficult event.

　　中心青少年俱樂部足球隊參加了於 Hanwell 舉行的 ZA 體育競賽。僅管對手都是年齡較大的球員，但足球隊並未氣餒，反而信心十足，著力於賽前準備。一共四場的比賽，足球隊全力以赴，贏得兩場比賽。雖最終未能晉級，但球隊成員取得的成績已足已讓他們驕傲與自豪。

On the 22nd Decem-

ber, the youth club hosted

their annual Christmas

party where this year they

participated in a Christ-

mas quiz and a trip to the

cinema. For the quiz youth

members were placed into

3 groups and they had to

compete in some games

such as Chopstick relay,

the nonsense game, action

telepathy as well as a quiz.

After the quiz the youth

club went to the cinema to

watch Murder on the Ori-

ent Express. Everyone had

a great time and the room

was full of festive cheer.

青少年俱樂部一年一度的聖誕聯歡會於 12 月 22日舉行，活動包括有獎競猜及影院之旅。在有獎競猜環節，青少年俱樂部成員被分為 3 組，在不同的遊戲和競答中爭奪冠軍，之後俱樂部成員去影院觀看了《東方列車謀殺案》，共同度過了一個溫馨愉快的聖誕節。

Speaking as a player of the youth team, I can easily say

that I enjoyed it very much, especially the moment when

we scored. The whole team lit up with happiness. When the

final whistle blew we all roared and the whole crowd jumped and screamed with us. This was probably the best football

moment for me.

作為青少年俱樂部足球隊的一員，我非常享受和大家踢球的時光，尤其是進球的喜悅。當最後的哨聲響起，整個隊伍都歡呼雀躍，喜不自勝，這可能是我最好的足球回憶。

觀影感受

Thor: Ragnarok is the latest film released by Marvel Studios. It follows the mighty

protagonist Thor who finds himself stranded on the other side of the universe, stuck in

a gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his

former ally and fellow avenger. While he is

trapped in an ensuing fight for survival, he must recruit a new team of “Avengers” to

help him prevent his sister Hela from de-

stroying his home world Asgard as well as

all the people on it.

It is a perfect example of what superhero

films should look like. Filled with action-

packed fun, gigantic beasts, zombie armies,

a big spooky dog, an evil witch and Jeff

Goldblum to top it off, the movie is outstand-

ing at its minimum. Jeff Goldblum especially

brings out the great comedy the movie has

in his role of “The Grandmaster”. However,

the wacky movie wasn’t just made for the

sake of wackiness.

The movie takes a character that could

always have been developed more through-

out the Marvel movies and so it further de-

velops the character through a great story-

line and the clear show of enthusiasm from

the producers. It was an extremely colourful

movie that anyone would watch it again

and again! The musical score of the movie

mainly displays the heroism of Thor and the

antagonistic intentions of the evil Hela. Yet

it still manages to transport the audience

through the fictional world of the movie and every part of the music reflects the theme

of the current scene.

Overall, the movie was delightful to

watch. Packed with exhilarating scenes

while also reassuring us of the general plot

of the movie, it is a must-watch for all ages.

Brace yourselves for the amazing balance

of comedy and action.

聖誕盃

To get into the Christmas spirit the

youth team participated in the X-Mas

cup at Goals Sutton. In the tournament

one player is selected to wear a Santa

hat and if they score their goal would

count as 2 goals instead of one.

The team the youth club sent had

quite a few new members who were

playing for the first time for the CCC

youth club team. The youth team was

unable to gel quickly enough resulting

in losing all the 4 games they played.

X-Mas Cup

為迎接聖誕節的到來，青少年俱樂部足球隊參加了於 Goals Sutton 舉行的聖誕盃足球賽。比賽規定一名球員要帶上聖誕帽，如果進球則計兩分。　　這次聖誕盃足球賽有不少新加入中心青少年俱樂部的成員參加，但遺憾的是，最終足球隊未能取勝。
