    APPROACH

    We sincerely believe effective communications can transform theworld. For more than a decade, the Committee on Issues andAdvocacy has been at the forefront of agenda setting anddevelopment projects that leads to positive results.

    As a group and as individuals, we strive to create strategies that wouldmobilize citizens especially the youth in creating a transformativesocial and political change on issues ranging from youthparticipation to National Development. We are particular incooperating with leading foundations, non-profit corporations, civilsocieties and government agencies working to improve our society.

    Our main principle is to make people aware of an important issue,understanding it, caring, recognizing they can have an impact andengaging others in their effort to create positive change.

    Issues in the Philippines

    The Philippines is faced with a number of issues that concernour organization. We are passionate about raisingawareness of these issues, and developing grass-rootssolutions to these problems.

    THE MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS

    Adopted by world leaders in the year 2000 and set to beachieved by 2015, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)

    provide concrete, numerical benchmarks for tackling extremepoverty in its many dimensions.

    The MDGs also provide a framework for the entire internationalcommunity to work together towards a common end makingsure that human development reaches everyone, everywhere. If

    these goals are achieved, world poverty will be cut by half, tensof millions of lives will be saved, and billions more people willhave the opportunity to benefit from the global economy.

    Goal 1: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger

    Goal 2: Achieve universal primary education Goal 3: Promote gender equality and empower women

    Goal 4: Reduce child mortality

    Goal 5: Improve maternal health
