WHARTON UNDERGRADUATE CLASS OF 2015 - RISING SENIORS SUMMER 2014 EMPLOYMENT REPORT

Student responses were collected using an online survey between August 2014 and November 2014. Of the 676 Wharton

seniors scheduled to graduate during the 2014 – 2015 academic year, 402 completed the survey (60% response rate). Of those,

395 students indicated they worked during the summer (370 full-time, 7 part-time, and 18 didn’t specify number of hours

worked) while 7 pursued other activities.

Job Functions of Wharton Interns (including full and part-time positions)

Students again interned in a variety of

job functions. The most popular

general area was finance including

investment banking, investment

management, sales & trading, private

equity, non-banking financial planning

and analysis, and securities research.

Marketing was also popular with

nearly 10% of students interning in

that field.

More students interned in real estate,

information technology and in various

managerial roles during Summer 2014,

while fewer (although still a healthy

12.6%) interned in consulting roles.

Applying directly to organizations

was an increasingly effective way
