PERSPECTIVE
THE YORK SCHOOL
A MESSAGE FROM THE HEADMISTRESS
In the pages of the 1993/94 edition of "Perspective", you will see many glimpses of the life of the school from our very youngest students who are just two years old, to our graduates who are fourteen.
Our Grade 8 class will be leaving to go to a variety of secondary institutions. If you study the photos in this yearbook you will see that these graduates have been widely involved in the activities of the school - sports, music, art, science, houses and student council. A small school such as ours ensures that almost all of York's population is engaged in the life and spirit of the institution. Forty years from now, these graduates will also be able to identify the faces in the photographs with fond memories.
The Strategic Planning Committee's report, endorsed by the board and parents, has recommended that we maintain our "small school" numbers in the elementary as well as secondary level.
The Faculty is excited at the prospect of this next phase. The cooperative building of curriculum and splendid extra-curricular programme will continue to match the high level of excellence we now have in York School.
Once more, we must thank the hard working and creative yearbook staff- Mrs. Wood, Mr. Snow, Mrs. Chandler, Mrs. Mason and Ms. Rodrigoe. Thanks also go to Mrs. Gordon for her photography skills. We know that countless hours of work have gone into the production of "Perspective '94" and hope that they are as delighted as we are with the final product!
