CHOIR NOTES
Hello Summer! Our Sanctuary Choir numbers are fewer lately due to our highly successful grandchildren
and our desire to explore cooler climates! Many of our members are traveling — some to see graduations,
some to see grand and great-grandchildren, and some for vacations. I hope you get to visit family soon,
and I also invite you to our summer schedule full of wonderful soloists who volunteered to sing while the
choir rests!
SOUND BOOTH
Most of you noticed that Julie Coe and I were scrambling on the Sunday after Lance’s surgery. This re-minded me how shorthanded our sound booth staff is. We would appreciate any volunteers to help us out!
There are two main jobs:
1. Turning on the microphones, hearing assists, and taking attendance.
If you can plug in a cell phone, turn the remote control on and off, and push buttons, you can do this job.
2. Clicking on the words for Easy Worship display during the service, including scriptures, songs and slides.
If you can write emails, use Facebook, or write a word document, you can do this job.
The ministry in the booth is a once a month obligation. We need at least 1 more volunteer for the 9 am ser-
vice, and 2 more volunteers for the 11 am service. Lance will gladly train you and show you the ropes. Stop
by the sound booth and visit with anyone working there for more information.

First Christian Church Outreach
We completed our Patriotic Fan craft and delivered
to FCC shut-in volunteers and Dietert Center Meals
on Wheels, and they are being distributed to the
clients.
Special thanks to Kit, Mary, Rita, Sherry, Donna,
and Judy for crafting with the Take 5 clients. We all
enjoyed crafting and singing patriotic songs. We
are making pumpkins for the fall season and will be
crafting with the Take 5 group again on September
10. Call to volunteer.
Gary Lubitz is donating a beautiful outdoor bench
that we will be selling drawing tickets for starting in
August. Proceeds go toward the church mortgage.

BUTTONS & BOWS
THANK YOU, Mae Avery, for providing materials and leading a crafting workshop on June 7. The ladies who participated learned how to create bead necklaces, some of which will be sold at the November Bazaar.
Donations of items that have been made by our crafters continue to be collected, inventoried and priced.
The Boutique has decorative and useful items for holidays or any special occasion. All proceeds go into the general account of the women's fellowship and outreach programs. There is also a Buttons and Bows website which includes photos and in-formation. A special project in the making is an all-church cookbook, which is planned for com-pletion in time for sale at the Bazaar. Deposit favorite recipes in the designated bas-ket in the church narthex, or email them to Jody Weikel ([email protected]). Include your name and, if the recipe is in memory of someone, the name of the per-son being remembered and a brief history of the recipe. Don't be left out!
