Not found in rates. No listings for Dingley in 1898 electoral roll.Reference found to Olive Ethel aged 2 child of Charles Dingley, Emma Proutten died Bruns 1890.The easily read signature is for Dingley however there is an Emma Dingle died Geelong 1947 aged 81 dau of Albert Rhodes/Isabella Brown married John Michael Dingle 1887. Children born Williamstown/Geelong.
Note: 145 Skene Street [1912] now 107 Skene Street [sw cnr Skene and Cumberland Streets] however 145 Skene Street in 1891 may have been a lower number in 1912 and therefore a lower number again with today's numbers.
NOTE: Emma Grace (RHODES) DINGLE is the most likely for this entry - although name is shown as DINGLEY. Children born 1890-1898 in Williamstown but child Grace Isabel born 1893 was registered at Queenscliff, therefore family obviously visited, worked and/or had connections in the region. From 1901 children registered Geelong.

Four sons. Those born 1866 and 1880 survived.James, a carter, was a councillor with Geelong West [elected 1886]. He resigned in 1895 along with another councillor because their drays were said to have been used to cart road metal used for council work. Both stated they had retired and their sons had taken over their plant. [pg 151 Seaton, Gladys 'The Ashby Story'] James was subsequently re-elected from 1898 till his death in 1903. In the same reference on page 156 James Doull a significant property owner in the borough was said to be elected the President of the Geelong West Reform and Protection League in August 1991.
