FANCY DRESS COMPETITION

Date and venue The students of Pre- Primary Wing participated in fancy dress competition on 11th August 2017

Agenda 1. To make them understand the importance of festivals. 2. To make them familiar with the historical characters. 3. To enhance their knowledge about different leaders across the globe

Participants Students of Pre- Primary Wing

Highlights of the event The students came in beautiful costumes to perform their characters. They spoke very well with great enthusiasm. The way in which the students presented their roles was commendable. The tiny tots were seen presenting their roles with great energy levels.

Analysis

1. The students had a great time while performing their characters. 2. They learnt about different characters of Krishan Leela, different freedom fighters and

leaders of India. 3. They were not only able to enhance their knowledge but this activity also boosted up their

confidence levels.

CLUB REPORT - LANGUAGE SKILLS

GRADE IV-V

Date & Month - 19th August 2017

Activity 1 - To speak Smart English (Grade IV)

Venue - Language Lab

Objective - To replace common and boring words in language with new, smart and expressive words for the enhancement and display of vocabulary.

Activity 2 - Tenses (Grade V) conducted in classroom

Objective - To understand, discuss and apply Tenses. In an interactive discussion, Grade IV students learnt how to avoid the repetitive use of the word

in their language with the use of smart words. Videos related to the concept were shown to them. Their understanding of the concept was assessed through a brief question answer session. (eg very beautiful-gorgeous, very busy- swamped, very happy-thrilled etc) All the kinds of Present Tense were discussed through examples in a classroom discussion with Grade V Students. Rules for application were discussed in detail. The importance of their correct application in language was explained

Outcome- Language Skill club was able to elicit the expected outcome.

CLUB REPORT GARDENING

Vidya Bharati School Conducted the Plantation activity on 19 August 2017 as a part of Gardening Club Activity.

Participants:- Students of VI, VII & VIII

Objectives: -Students were taught about how plants play an important role in our life. It also inculcated the interest and habit of gardening among the students.

Outcome: - The students visited the garden. They were introduced to various plants like Tulsi, Alovera etc. in the school premises under the guidance of a gardener and the club teachers. Different types of plants and their utilities were briefed to them. They were taught how a seed grows to become a plant / tree with the help of explanation, demonstration and pictures. It was a fun learning experience. They enjoyed a lot and were really happy to read Encyclopedia of Gardening.

WEB DESIGNING CLUB REPORT

Objective: To inculcate the value of participation

Participants: Students of grade IV and V

Outcome: Students were able to discuss and describe the theme in their dramatic presentation. They were able to show an informative and interesting performance in front of the students. Their knowledge of related topic was assessed. They were able to coordinate with each other. Students grasped new ideas. Children were attentive and participative throughout the session. Their display of energy and enthusiasm suggests that they had enjoyed the learning.

CLUB REPORT ART AND CRAFT

Art & Craft: -Making of card with Quelling.

Objective: -

To motivate and encourage the creativity of the students. To make card using quelling paper. To boost up their creativity and imagination.

Highlights: -

The students were taught how to make a Card with quelling.

Outcome: -

The students showed their enthusiasm while making card and they were very excited that they made on their own. Each child presented their own imagination and creativity.

Heritage Club

Activity : Introduction of Slave Dynasty, Architectural Style

Objective: To make students aware about the Heritage of India.

To inculcate the value of participation

To give them exposure of public speaking

To develop confidence in themselves

Participants: Students of grade VI, VII & VIII

Outcome: Students were able to know more about monuments made by Qutb ud din Aibak and Iltutmish, their architectural style and location of the same, the era and why they were built. They were able to familiarize themselves with the heritage of India. Students grasped new ideas. Children were attentive and participative throughout the session. Their display of energy and enthusiasm suggests that they have enjoyed their learning.

INTER CLASS TEARING AND PASTING COMPETITION

An Inter class tearing and pasting competition was conducted for the students of grade I, II, III on 18 August 2017.

Agenda

The purpose of conducting the competition was to blend learning with fun. It helps in cognitive development skill along with fine motor skills. To develop competitive spirit among the students. To show the importance of art in our day to day life. This is a cute, fun free crafty activity that helps students with their cutting and pasting skills. The act of tearing encourages use of finger and co-ordination skill.

Highlights

All the students participated enthusiastically. The students used all the colored sheets to decorate their picture. They enjoyed pasting colorful sheets. It was fun for the children.

Analysis - It was a memorable experience indeed to see students participating energetically and performing well and learning new ingenuities.

attending this event. Students of class IV and V actively participated in this fun filling and knowledgeable competition. This was a competition which enhanced their vocabulary, grammar and reading capability. Students relished and when winners were announced screamed at the loudest. ANALYSIS

Students with the help of this activity understood the importance of having good vocabulary, reading capability, understanding and listening skills. This activity was a learning process for students which they enjoyed. It enriched their process of critical thinking.

1. To make students aware about Hindi recitation and the correct way to recite. 2. To inculcate the value that participation is more important than winning. 3. To give them exposure of public speaking. 4. To develop confidence in themselves.

Highlights

The students were invited upon the stage class wise. The theme for nursery class was fruits/vegetables/healthy food. The theme for class KG was birds, animals and insects. All the students were well prepared with the props and recited poems stunningly. The students were judged on the basis of- Content, Props, Presentation and voice modulation. The students recited the poetry with great confidence and enthusiasm.

Analysis The students recited the poetries with full confidence. They also got to test their oratory skills. It boosted up their confidence levels and improved speaking skill.

Independence Celebration Hockey Seven a Side Tournament

Vidya Bharati School, under 16 - Boys Team participated in Independence Celebration Hockey Seven a side Tournament at Mahamaya stadium and marched with flying colours. The Tournament was held on 15.08.2017. The enthusiasm of the students was worth watching. The School Hockey Coach Ms. Neelam Sharma had put her best efforts. The School got III Position in the Tournament. Raj Shekhar, Udit Mishra, Sarthak Tyagi, Ayush Singh, Sourav Jha, Kartavya Srivastav, Aman Bahuguna, Meet Nagar, Bharat Bisht were the strong competitors. Udit Mishra was the Captain of the Team. Goalkeeper (Sourav Jha) .

Tae-kwon-do students of Vidya Bharati School participated in this Tournament and did their best.

INVESTITURE-CUM-FELICITATION CEREMONY

On 31ST August, 2017, a solemn ceremony was conducted in the assembly ground of Vidya Bharati School, wherein the newly elected School leaders took charge of their offices. Dr C.R. Bhansali, Figure Head of the school graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Mr. Vijay Sharma, a renowned social worker, presided with the event as a guest of honor. Our distinguished Guests and members of the Surya Nagar Educational Society pinned the badges to the newly elected office bearers along with the Principal, Dr. Manjusha Joshi. The Student Council comprising of 50 members was led by the Director Bharat Bhatia and Diksha Khatri. They along with the team of office bearers administered the oath of allegiance to the office by the Principal to uphold the ethos and the motto of the school and work in sync with the mission of the school.

On this occasion the school also honored brilliant students who had 100% attendance and also the students who had bagged 10 C.G.P.A. in the session 2016-17 by dint of their hard work, devotion, single-minded resoluteness and commitment. These scholastic toppers were on cloud nine and very jubilant. They were congratulated by the eminent members of the management and guests.

Our General Secretary, Dr. Alam Ali Sisodia delivered a motivational speech and said that, V.B.S is the nurturing ground of scholars and these achievers are testimony to the same. The celebration was a grand success.
