[email protected] Mercury Propellers introduces SpitFire X7 and SpitFire CT Mercury Propellers, a division of Mercury Marine, the world leader in marine propulsion and technology, will introduce two new SpitFire propellers designed to significantly improve boat performance in the growing 75-115hp outboard class. SpitFire X7 SpitFire X7 is the first propeller in the 75-115hp engine class to be marketed with the proprietary Mercury X7 alloy, which is 30 percent stronger and four times more durable than conventional steel. Using the X7 alloy and building off design elements from the best-in-class aluminum SpitFire, the SpitFire X7 significantly improves acceleration, top speed and holding ability compared to other stainless steel propellers in its class. The SpitFire X7 is a high-performance propeller which improves a boater’s experience in the most cost-efficient way in the 75-115hp outboard class. With gains of up to 1.5 miles per hour and substantial acceleration improvements versus other stainless propellers, the SpitFire X7 is the new benchmark in performance for midrange outboard engines. The new SpitFire X7 is available within the Mercury network in 13-inch, 15-inch, 17-inch, 19-inch and 21-inch pitches from December 2015. SpitFire CT The new aluminium SpitFire CT also allows boaters to take advantage of the performance attributes of the original SpitFire. The aggressive four- blade design of the SpitFire CT improves acceleration and holding power for heavy duty applications powered by the new Mercury 90hp and 115hp Command Thrust SeaPro outboards when compared to the Mercury three- blade aluminium propeller. The SpitFire CT provides value by allowing customers to do more with their commercial applications. The SpitFire CT will pull more efficiently, enhance holding in tight turns and provide better docking authority. The SpitFire CT is available at Mercury dealers in 12-inch and 14-inch pitches from December 2015.
