3GRUSSWORT DES VORSITZENDEN
Die Vielfalt und die Komplexität der Multitechnologie-Lösungen in der An-triebs- und Getriebeentwicklung sind größer als je zuvor. Mittlerweile ist klar, dass die einst als Brückentechnologie bezeichneten Hybridantriebe auf absehbare
Zeit ein Bestandteil des Technologiemixes bleiben werden. So entwickeln die meisten Automobilhersteller – neben Elektrofahrzeugen – mit hohem Tempo viel-fältige Hybridvarianten, von 48 Volt-Mild-Hybrid über den Voll-Hybrid bis zum Plug-in-Hybrid. Damit sollen die besonders anspruchsvollen CO2- und Emissionsanfor-derungen im Zyklus sowie im RDE-Test erfüllt werden. Insofern ist die Verkündung von Toyota nur folgerichtig: In der 2020er Dekade wird für jedes Modell von Toyota und Lexus ein Hybridantrieb angeboten.
Aktuelle Diskussionen über Einfahrverbote von Dieselfahrzeugen in Städten und sogar Verkaufsstopps konventioneller Neufahrzeuge, wie sie in Norwegen geführt werden, rücken die elektrifi zierten Antriebe einmal mehr in den Vordergrund der Automobilentwicklung. Denn BEV, FCEV und PHEV mit hinreichender elektri-
scher Reichweite sind die einzigen Alternativen zur Gewährleistung der loka-
len Emissionsfreiheit in Ballungsgebieten.
Bis 2020 werden sich die Reichweite von Elektrofahrzeugen in Folge der erheb-lich verbesserten Energiedichten der Batterien verdoppeln und gleichzeitig die Batteriepreise halbieren. Weitere wesentliche Erhöhungen der Reichweiten, z.B. durch die ASS (All Solid State)-Batterien dürften ab 2030 zum endgültigen Auf-
stieg der Elektrofahrzeuge zur Erstfahrzeugalternative für einen relativ brei-
ten Kundenkreis führen. Dies wiederum setzt die noch relativ kostenintensiven Wasserstoffantriebe weiter unter Druck.
Die konventionellen Antriebe bleiben dennoch auch zukünftig im Fokus der An-triebs- und Getriebeentwickler. Sie sind bezüglich der Reichweite, Kraftstoffi nfra-struktur und Kosten – nicht nur für die schweren Lastkraftwagen – in den meisten Fällen praktisch die einzige Alternative. Ferner schneiden sie bezüglich der globa-len CO2-Bilanz im Sinne der Lebenszyklusanalyse vielfach besser ab. Hier gilt es also, die Effi zienz und die Emissionen weiter zu verbessern.
Unbestritten sind dagegen die Komfort- und Sicherheitsvorteile durch die Ver-
netzung der Fahrzeuge und das Automatisierte Fahren. Der Übergang vom der-zeit assistierten zum teil- und zukünftig hochautomatisierten Fahren wird trotz jüngster Unfälle mit Hochdruck vorangetrieben. Für den Antrieb und das Getriebe bedeutet dies, die Zugkraft über den gesamten Geschwindigkeitsbereich stets kontinuierlich, komfortabel und akustisch unauffällig sowie bei Bedarf spontan zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Im Rahmen des letzten Symposiums in Berlin wurde erstmalig der Begriff „Dedi-
cated Hybrid Transmission (DHT)“ für eine neue Klasse von Hybridgetrieben eingeführt, deren Funktion die Integration einer oder mehrerer Elektromotoren in das Getriebe erfordert. DHT wurde im Plenum diskutiert und fand hohe Akzeptanz.
Auch in diesem Jahr werden neue DHTs als „reinrassige“ Hybridantriebe vorgestellt. Darüber hinaus werden wir neue Konzepte von Getrieben, Hybrid- und Elektro-
antrieben, aber auch zahlreiche komponentenbezogene Themen und Fragestel-
lungen behandeln, die in der Summe den Gesamtantrieb zu optimieren helfen:
Trends in der Entwicklung elektrifi zierter Antriebe: Hochdrehzahl-EM für EV, modulare Konzepte für kompakte sowie hochleistungsfähige (P)HEV
MT, AMT, DCT, AT, CVT: neue Konzepte und verbesserte Komponenten; Was brauchen zukünftige MT um bestehen zu können?
Mit welchen Antriebstopologien werden 48V-Systeme den (Massen-)Markt erobern?
Werden E-Achsen mechanische Allradantriebe verdrängen? Welche Einfl üsse hat das Automatisierte Fahren auf die Entwicklung zu-künftiger Getriebe, und wie beeinfl ussen funktionale Sicherheit und Cyber
Security den Antrieb? Welche Herausforderungen gibt es bei Markteinführungen von Getrieben in China?
Anfahrelemente, Schwingungsdämpfung, NVH: Potenziale und Grenzen Komponenten: Welche Neuerungen gibt es hinsichtlich Effi zienz und Elektri-fi zierung? Wie kann die Reibung weiter reduziert werden?
Wie wirkt sich die Schmierung und Beölung auf die Antriebseffi zienz aus? Was tut sich bei der Batterieentwicklung hinsichtlich Kosten und Energie-dichte?
Tools, Simulation: von der Synthese zukünftiger Antriebe bis hin zur virtuellen Kalibration
Lässt sich durch Antriebsintegration die zunehmende Komplexität in der Getriebeentwicklung beherrschen?
Nutzfahrzeugantriebe und -getriebe: AT oder AMT? Produktion: Leichtbau, Fertigungstechnologien und der Einfl uss der Elektrifi zierung
Wie wirken sich die Gesetzgebung und die RDE-Tests auf die Entwicklung von Antriebssystemen aus?
Mit der Verleihung des 8. CTI Young Drive Experts Award an frisch diplomierte und promovierte AbsolventInnen, deren Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der Getriebe und Antriebsentwicklung besonders herausragen, unterstreichen wir die Bedeutung des Nachwuchses.
Die oben angedeutete große Themenvielfalt wird in einem umfangreichen Pro-gramm behandelt: 85 Fachvorträge im Plenum und in 16 parallelen Vortragsrei-
hen. In der neu konzipierten Podiumsdiskussion werden Antriebs- und Getriebe-experten mit Newcomern über den Themenkreis „Mobilität und Antrieb der
Zukunft“ diskutieren. Dies alles begleitet von der Transmission Expo, unserem „Technologiemarkt für innovative Produkte zum Anfassen“ mit 135 Ausstellern.
Mit dem Einführungstag für Quereinsteiger und dem Hauptprogramm sowie der alljährlichen CTI Vergleichsfahrt zum Erleben von Neu- und Weiterentwicklungen nach den Haupttagen stellt das 15. CTI Symposium in Berlin erneut ein exzel-lentes Forum zum Meinungs- und Erfahrungsaustausch für internationale Ge-triebe- und Antriebsfachleute dar und gibt ein wertvolles Statusupdate sowie ei-nen Ausblick in die Zukunft. Zielsetzung
Im Rahmen dieses Einführungstages erhalten Neu- und Querein steiger einen Überblick über die Grundlagen konventioneller, hybrider und elektrischer Fahrzeugantriebe. Basierend auf Fahrwiderständen sowie Kennfeldern von Verbrennungskraftmaschinen und Elektromotoren werden die Aufgaben der Anfahrelemente, Getriebe sowie der weiteren Antriebsstrangelemente defi -niert. Darüber hinaus werden Leistungs fl üsse in verschiedenen Antriebskon-zepten erläutert (konventionell, hybrid in paralleler, serieller und leistungs-verzweigter Ausführung sowie rein elektrisch) und die entsprechenden Entwicklungsziele dargestellt.
In der Session „Konventioneller Antriebsstrang“ erfolgt unter anderem die Erläuterung der Konzepte für Handschaltgetriebe, automatisierte Schalt-getriebe, Doppelkupplungsgetriebe, Automatikgetriebe sowie Stufenlos-getriebe. Das Thema Antriebsstrangmanagement rundet diese Session ab. In der dazu parallelen Session „Hybrid- und Elektroantriebe“ werden die grundlegenden Anforderungen und Eigenschaften elektrischer Maschinen, der Leistungs elektronik sowie der Fahrzeugbatterien behandelt.
Zum Abschluss der beiden Vortragsreihen erfolgt ein Überblick über die Themen der jeweils anderen Session in einer Kurzfassung.

Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn studierte und promovierte am Institut für Fahrzeugtechnik der Technischen Hochschule Darmstadt. Er begann seine berufl iche Laufbahn 1993 bei Ford und war in Deutschland, Großbritannien und in den USA tätig. In den nächsten sieben Jahren fungierte er in unterschiedlichen Positionen und war verantwortlich für Fahrwerk und Fahrzeugkon-zepte, einschließlich der Fahrzeugdynamik. 2000 wechselte er zu Volkswagen, wo er als Leiter Konzern-Forschung für alle Marken der Volkswagen Group zuständig war. Einer seiner größten Erfolge in dieser Zeit war die Entwicklung des „Ein-Li-ter-Autos“. Von 2003 bis 2011 war er als Vorstand Technische Entwicklung bei Bentley Motors tätig und verantwortete alle technischen Aspekte der Bentley-Modelle sowie die Ausführung und die Produktion. Im Januar 2012 wurde Dr. Eichhorn zum Geschäftsführer des Verbandes der Automobilindustrie (VDA) ernannt. Dort war er herstellergruppenübergreifend u. a. zuständig für die Themen Technik, Sicherheit, Umweltschutz, Forschung und Qualitätsmanagement. Zudem vertrat er die VDA-Interessen in Gremien, wie DIN, ISO und TÜV. Im März 2016 kehrte er als Leiter Konzern Forschung und Entwicklung zur Volkswagen AG zurück.
Dr. Renate Vachenhauer startete ihre berufl iche Laufbahn 1999 als Projektleitung Vorentwicklung Fahrwerkselektronik bei der BMW AG. 2002 wurde sie zur Gruppenleiterin Serienentwicklung Fahrwerk ernannt. Anschließend wurde ihr die Lei-tung der Abteilung Fahrerassistenz, Fahrwerk übertragen. Von 2013 bis 2014 hatte Dr. Vachenauer die Abteilungsleitung Leistungselektronik E-Antriebe inne. Im vergangenen Jahr wurde sie dann zur Leiterin Entwicklung Getriebe und Triebstrang ernannt. In dieser Funktion ist Dr. Vachenauer für sämtliche Vor- und Serien-Entwicklungsaktivitäten im Bereich Getriebe (Handschaltgetriebe, Doppelkupplungsgetriebe, Automatikgetriebe und E-Getriebe) und Triebstrangkomponenten verant-wortlich.
Jörg Grotendorst studierte Elektrotechnik und trat 1996 als Entwicklungsingenieur im Bereich Elektronische Bremsregelsy-steme, Entwicklung Pkw in die DaimlerChrysler AG ein. Anschließend wechselte er zur Ford Motor Company, wo er als Design Team Leader Vehicle Network tätig war. 2000 wechselte er zur Continental AG, wo er mehrere leitende Funktionen im Bereich Entwicklung und Automotive Systems inne hatte, zuletzt war er Leiter Strategie & Technologie der Division Powertrain. Da-nach folgte 2012 die Tätigkeit als CEO Business Unit „eCar Powertrain-Systems“, Division Digital Factory Vice Chairman der BSAES-Beijing Siemens Automotive E-Drive Systems in Changzhou bei der Siemens AG in China. Seit Januar 2016 gehört Herr Grotendorst der ZF Friedrichshafen AG an und fungiert dort als Leiter E-Mobility.
Toshihiro Hirai trat 1984 in die Nissan Motor Company ein. 1999 wurde er zum Manager, Advanced Engineering Department ernannt. 2005 wurde er Deputy General Manager, Powertrain Project Planning Department und 2008 schließlich General Manager Powertrain Technology, Development Department. Bereits im folgenden Jahr übernahm er die Funktion Powertrain Program Director. In dieser Zeit war er u.a. verantwortlich für Infi niti und die Nissan Fahrzeuge der C-Klasse. Seit 2014 ist Toshihiro Hirai Alliance Global Director, Corporate Vice President. In dieser Funktion leitet er die Abteilung Antriebstrang für alle Benzin, Diesel, Hybrid und Antriebsstrangaktivitäten innerhalb Nissan/Renault und deren Allianzen.
Gerd Bofi nger studierte Maschinenbau an der Fachhochschule Esslingen und begann seine berufl iche Laufbahn 1979 im Getriebeversuch der Porsche AG. 1986 wurde er zum Leiter Schaltgetriebeversuch ernannt und man übertrug ihm die Teamleitung Getriebe Carrera. 2004 übernahm Herr Bofi nger die Leitung der Getriebeentwicklung bei der Porsche AG und trägt seitdem die Entwicklungsverantwortung für alle Komponenten des Triebstrangs.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Fritz Indra studierte Maschinenbau an der Technischen Universität Wien, wo er auch promovierte. Während seiner berufl ichen Laufbahn war Prof. Indra für die Entwicklung von Motoren und Fahrzeugen für BMW Alpina, Audi, Opel und General Motors zuständig. Seit 1985 lehrt er als Honorarprofessor an der Technischen Universität Wien das Fach Rennmo-toren und Rennfahrzeuge. Weiterhin ist er seit 2005 als Berater für die Automobilindustrie tätig. Prof. Indra veröffentlichte zahlreiche Vorträge und Bücher, insbesondere zu Motorthemen sowie zu alternativen Fahrzeugen und Antriebssystemen.

Dr. Enrico Pisino begann seine berufl iche Laufbahn 1991 als Research Analyst für Fahrkomfort bei Centro Richerche FIAT. In den folgenden Jahren verantwortete er verschiedene Projekte, u. a. in den Bereichen Methodik, Innovative Produkte, Fahrzeugkonzepte und Architekturen. 2005 wurde Dr. Pisino zum Director Manufacturing and Materials ernannt, 2006 zum Leiter des Geschäftsbereiches Vehicle Architecture und 2008 zum Leiter des Bereiches Interior für Fahrzeuge der FIAT Gruppe. Im Jahr 2011 folgte dann die Ernennung zum Head of Innovation der Chrysler Group. Seit 2014 ist Dr. Enrico Pisino Leiter der Abteilung Forschung und Innovation bei Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). Im gleichen Jahr wurde er zum Chairman des FCA Innovation Coordination Committee ernannt. Seit vergangenem Jahr ist er zudem Design Systems Direc-tor EMEA. Darüber hinaus ist Dr. Pisino EUCAR Council Member und dort Chairman des Bereichs Sustainable Propulsion Strategic Research & Innovation.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Harald Ludanek ist promovierter Maschinenbau-Ingenieur und gehört dem Konzern Volkswagen seit 1992 an. Seine berufl iche Laufbahn begann er in der Konzernforschung für Sonderantriebe und Getriebeentwicklung, z.B. Doppelkupplungsgetriebe und Lastschaltgetriebe. Ab 1997 war er für drei Jahre Vorstandsassistent Technische Entwick-lung. Anschließend leitete er die Konzernentwicklungssteuerung. Von 2002 bis 2007 leitete Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Ludanek als Vorstand die Technische Entwicklung von Škoda-Auto in Mlada Boleslav. Anschließend übernahm er die Gesamtfahr-zeugentwicklung und den Versuchsbau bei Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, bevor er 2012 als Vorstand die Forschung und Ent-wicklung bei Scania CV AB nach Södertälje, Schweden wechselte. Im April 2016 wurde Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Ludanek zum Mitglied des Vorstandes, Technische Entwicklung Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge ernannt. Hier verantwortet er die Entwicklung der Produktpalette sowie Zukunftstechnologien.
Jake Hirsch studierte Betriebswirtschaft an der Universität Reutlingen. Zusätzlich schloß er ein Global Leadership Programm der Thunderbird School in Internationalem Management ab und ist Absolvent eines Strategische Management Seminars der Harvard University. Im Laufe seiner umfangreichen Karriere war Jake Hirsch President und CEO von Teksid Aluminium; Chairman, President und CEO von Textron Fastening Systems; Vice President und Managing Director von TRW Occupant Restraints sowie Executive Vice President und COO der Magna Europe AG, wo er zusätzlich Mitglied des Aufsichtsgremiums war. 2007 kehrte Jake Hirsch zu Magna zurück und wurde im darauffolgenden Jahr zum Präsidenten von Magna Powertrain ernannt. In dieser Funktion ist er ist für Magnas globales Antriebs- und Elektronikgeschäften verantwortlich. 2011 wurde er vom österreichischen Bundeskanzler zum Kommerzialrat ernannt.
Dr. Peter Mertens schloß ein Studium der Produktionstechnik als Diplomingenieur ab und erlangte einen Materabschluß im Bereich Industrial Engineering und Operations Research am Virginia Politechnic Institute (USA) im Jahr 1985. Danach wechselte er an die Universität Kaiserslautern um seine Promotion zu erlangen. In dieser Zeit war er dort zudem als Leiter des Instituts für Technologietransfer tätig. Von 1990 bis 1996 hatte Dr. Mertens verschiedene Positionen bei der Daimler AG in Stuttgart inne (1990 – 1993 Leiter Aftersales Engineering, 1993 – 1996 Projektleiter A-Klasse). 1996 wurde er Ge-schäftsführer von Tegaron Telematics GmbH und entschied sich sechs Jahre später als Vehicle Line Executive in die Adam Opel AG einzutreten. Im Jahre 2004 wurde er dort Vehicle Line Executive, Executive Director bei General Motors Europe und ein Jahr später zum Global Vehicle Line Executive, Executive Director General Motors worldwide ernannt. In 2010 wechselte Dr. Mertens als Head of Corporate Quality und Mitglied des Management Boards von Jaguar/Landrover zu Jaguar Cars/Tata Motors India. Im darauf folgenden Jahr wurde er zum Senior Vice President, Research & Development von Volvo Cars ernannt.
Larry Nitz studierte Elektrotechnik an der Kettering University und erlangte seinen Masterabschluss an der Standford University. 1976 trat er bei General Motors (GM) ein und erlangte im Laufe seiner Berufslaufbahn umfassende Kennt-nisse im Bereich der Benzinmotoren, manuellen und automatischen Getriebe, der Antriebs- und Fahrzeugsteuerung sowie Hybrid- und Elektrosysteme. Larry Nitz leitet heute die globale Getriebe- und Elektrifi zierungsabteilung von GM, mit Entwick-lungstätigkeiten in Nord- und Südamerika, Europa und Asien. Seine Abteilung ist für alle Vorgänge bei GM im Bereich der manuellen und automatischen Getriebe, sowie der Elektrifi zierung des Antriebsstranges zuständig.
