PRIMARY NEWS Issue 15: 25th January 2013

100% Attendance

As well as monitoring the attendance of every child

each day and at the end of each week, we also like to

celebrate those children whose professional attitude

towards school has led to them winning 100%

Achievement Awards for the Autumn Term. We

would like to congratulate the children above – all 16

of them – for their impeccable attendance! Well done

and keep it up!

Winter Wonderland

A huge thank you to all of the parents who turned

out to find out how they could help their child

with their reading at last night’s Primary

Curriculum Evening. The event was well attended

and 35/ 74 parents were able to come along. Miss

James led an exciting session and tonight we have

great pleasure in sending home your child’s

collection of sound cards. As you can imagine, it

has taken a long time to make all of these for

every child so please put them to good use. They

are yours to keep but sadly we will be unable to

make replacements should they become lost.

Thank you to the teachers and support staff who

have been laminating and slicing constantly both

before and after school to help ensure that your

child is up to speed and ahead of their peers by

the time that they leave Reception in July.

Primary

Curriculum Evening

Some of you may have heard that sadly

one night this week, our Reception

children were burgled of their iPads

and consequently at present we have

very few to use with your children.

Whilst the children were obviously sad,

they sprang into action and undertook

their own police reports which formed

the basis of our Literacy lesson. Please

maintain your vigilance in the local area

as someone somewhere will be trying

to sell them on.

Drink up!

Next week we are making bird feeders

using plastic bottles. We will need 75 of

these small soft drink bottles in total! So

that Mr Dawson doesn’t have to drink

75 bottles of ‘pop’, we would like each

child to please bring one in from home.

The birds will be very appreciative in this

cold weather.

Extreme Reading

A huge well done and thank you to all

the children and parents that submitted

a photo for our Extreme Reading

challenge. Watch out for the winners in

next week’s newsletter.

Breakfast Club

Just a reminder that we offer a Breakfast

Club facility from 8 am each morning at

£2.50.

Next Friday is French themed with the

children being offered waffles,

croissants and hot chocolate as well as

all the usual favourites on offer.

For more information, please speak to

Mr. Dawson in the playground either

before or after school.
