DEFINITION

Communication system has drastically (totally)

changed in the past few years. Due to rapid

technological progress in communication means,

today it is impossible to think the business

organization without computer and internet.

Internet made revolution in the industry of

information technology. It is better to say that internet

is the backbone of the modern information

technology. After the introduction of the internet as

an electronic communication means, some old

communication services have become obsolete (out

of date) to great extent, such as postage services,

courier services, telex etc. These are also a great

impact on business applications.

Internet is the worldwide collection of networks.

Connection between worlds small computer

networks forms internet. Through internet we can

share information in the form of email messages.

SMS messages, articles, news online trading,

price quotes (quotation marks), advertising,

e-book, audio, video and written chats, songs,

movies, and games etc.

World Wide Web (www)World Wide Web is an architectural frame work for

accessing linked documents spread out over thousands

of machines all over the internet. WWW made it possiblefor a site to set up a number of pages of information

containing texts, picture, sound and even video, with

embedded links to other pages. By clicking on a link, the

users are suddenly transported to the page pointed to by

that link. Web page opens on the web browser like MS

internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator etc.

EmailEmail is the abbreviation of electronic mail. Email

is one of the most useful applications of the

internet. Through email the user can send and

receive message including text, graphic,

pictures, voice etc. Sender and receivers must

have their email address in order to

communicate with each other.

EmailEmail has two parts:

1. Before the sign @ which is the user identification, and

2. After @ sign that is domain name which specific the name

of email services provider.

For e.g. [email protected] in which abcd is the user

name and yahoo.com is the email services provider. Through

this medium messages are delivered from a sources to a

destination (purpose) with a few seconds.
