Lakeland exists to worship Christ in all things and share Him with all people

Welcome to Lakeland! If you are a guest today, we welcome you in the name of Jesus! We are glad you are here and look forward to meeting you. We believe that your best days of knowing, loving and following Christ are before you! We pray that He uses our fellowship today as a means of encouraging you.

If you are interested in finding more about Lakeland, there are three things you can do! First, a welcome form is in this bulletin. If you fill it in and drop it in the offering basket or leave it on the Information Table in the lobby, we have several things we would like to send you about Lakeland. The staff also prays for our guests, we would be glad to pray for you by name.

Second, at the display in the Resource Room are brochures outlining our vision and values, and brochures that give ministry descriptions and contact information - ministry leaders would be delighted to talk with you.

Third, we invite you to a free luncheon called “Meet Lakeland”, an opportunity to meet people and learn where the Lord is leading us as a church. Our next luncheon is planned for August 28th. Please make plans to return. Please come to Room 607 following the second service. We have food and fun for kids so please bring your whole family!

Warm regards,

Senior Pastor Dan Weyerhaeuser

The Life Meditation VerseHe has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with

your God?

SONG LYRICS

INDESCRIBABLELaura Story, additional lyrics by Jesse Reeves • © 2004 worshiptogether.com Songs / sixsteps Music / Gleaning Publishing • (audio recording available on “How Great Is Our God” by Passion)

From the highest of heights to the depths of the seaCreation’s revealing Your majestyFrom the colors of Fall to the fragrance of SpringEvery creature unique in the song that it singsAll exclaiming

Indescribable, uncontainable, You placed the stars in the skyAnd You know them by name, You are amazing GodAll powerful, untamable, Awestruck we fall to our kneesAs we humbly proclaim, You are amazing God

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go?Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow?Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light?Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness or night?None can fathom

Incomparable, unchangeable, You see the depths of my heartAnd You love me the same, You are amazing God

HALLELUJAH TO MY KINGPaul Baloche, Brenton Brown • © 2007 Integrity’s Hosanna! Music / Leadworship Songs / Thankyou Music • (audio recording available on “Our God Saves” by Paul Baloche)

O, how strong the power of Jesus’ nameIt is stronger than any other nameHow sweet the victory that bore my shameTook the burden of my sin away

Hallelujah, what a Savior, I owe everything to HimHallelujah, what a Savior, Hallelujah to my King

O, how great the kindness our God has shownWe were strangers, now we’re called His ownHis grace has welcomed the sinner homeTender mercies lead us to the throne

Hallelujah, hallelujah to my King

O, what peace the Spirit of Jesus bringsThrough the trials He will carry meOn day in Heaven, our eyes will meetFilled with wonder, all the saints will sing

YOU ARE MY KING (AMAZING LOVE)Billy Foote • © 1996 worshiptogether.com Songs • (audio recording available on “Better Is One Day” by Passion)

I’m forgiven because You were forsaken, I’m accepted, You were condemnedI’m alive and well, Your Spirit is within me, Because You died and rose again

Amazing love, how can it be, That You, my King, would die for me?Amazing love, I know it’s true, And it’s my joy to honor You, In all I do I honor You

You are my King, Jesus, You are my King

WONDERFUL MERCIFUL SAVIORDawn Rodgers, Eric Wyse • © 1989 Word Music, LLC / Dayspring Music, LLC • (audio recording available on “Press On” by Selah)

This Week’s Prayer RequestsLocal Church -  Nueva Vida en Cristo (New Life in Christ Church) located in downtown Waukegan on County Street, pastored by Edgar Samper. They are steadfastly enduring and meeting significant needs in our community through the love of Christ!  Below are requests we can be lifting up to the Lord on their behalf during our services this Sunday.- God’s clarity on our staying in the current building or not – it’s up in foreclosure in the name of another ministry.- Our finances need a boost.- For the Christians in our congregation to get more spiritually hungry and their commitment to the cause of Christ would be strengthened. Grace be with you allLakeland Ministry - Children’s Ministries, Director Judy Crockett -- Please pray for Judy as she leads the Children’s Ministry at Lakeland. Pray for Judy to find joy in serving the Lord through this ministry and for grace and wisdom in leading and deploying the large team of volunteers. “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10 NIV)Lakeland Missionary - Pray for the staff of ScholarLeaders International (formerly called Christian International Scholarship Foundation) as they work to equip theological leaders in developing nations.Matthew 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”LifeSpring Church Plant - Pastor Cabot & Asia Ashwill - Please pray for the LifeSpring congregation, as they minister to each other and the community of Spring Grove, to be faithful and expectant of the Lord’s promises. Hebrews 3:14 - If we are faithful to the end . . . we will share in all that belongs to Christ. For our Nation: May we as a nation be humble before our Holy God. James 4:10 - when you bow down before the Lord and admit your dependence on him, he will lift you up and give you honor.Prayer time for Muslims and Muslim Background Believers in the Chicagoarea.  Every Monday night @ 7pm @ Lakeland Church in room 506. Contact MikeUrton for details 847-217-7751 or [email protected]

Let us be reminded of Hebrew chapter 12!  "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.  And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith…Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.  Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed."

May we run together with steadfastness, especially during these uncertain and economically difficult times for many of us.

Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children while at church.  To avoid accidents and other mishaps, children should remain in the sight of a parent unless they

have been checked into a class or nursery.
