GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS-Class of 2015 (and beyond)
Grade Point Average
Fulton County calculates cumulative numeric averages for students by adding up all grades in all classes and dividing by the total number of classes taken. This numeric average is on a 100 point scale; i.e., 87.963 out of 100. Remember, failed grades, summer school grades, Night school grades and online grades are included in this. All courses listed on the transcript are averaged together. Also, Fulton County adds 7 points to the final passing grade for each Honors, AP and college course taken; therefore, the Cumulative Numeric Average is a weighted average. This is shown as the final grade on the transcript.

EOC Purpose GA Milestones: Designed to do the following
• provide a valid measure of student achievement of the state content standards across the full achievement continuum;
• serve as the final exam for the course, contributing 20% to the student’s final course grade
• provide a clear signal of the student’s preparedness for the next course and ultimately post-secondary endeavors (college and career);
• allow for the detection of the progress made by each student from one assessed course to the next;
• support and inform educator effectiveness measures; and• inform state and federal accountability measures at the
school, district, and state levels.
Georgia Milestones: Unique Features
• Constructed-response and selected response items in ELA and mathematics
• A writing component (in response to text) at every grade level and course within the ELA assessment
• Norm-referenced items in every grade and content area
• Primary mode of administration is online with a transition to 100% online over time
Experience Online Testing Georgia• The website’s primary purpose is to provide
exposure to the online platform that students will use when taking the Georgia Milestones tests.
• Given this, you will find:– General items from four content areas that reflect
multiple grade levels. – Items do not necessarily reflect of the range of content
or challenge that students will experience on actual tests.
– Three short accommodated demonstration tests – High Contrast, Large Font, and Screen Reader.
– Currently does NOT work with an iPad.– http://learnoas.ctb.com/GA/

Move On When Ready
• Move On When Ready is Georgia’s new dual enrollment program that allows high school students (9th – 12th grade) to earn college credit while working on their high school diploma. Move On When Ready replaces Accel, HOPE Grant for dual enrollment and the previous Move On When Ready program. The new Move On When Ready program now covers tuition, mandatory fees and required textbooks.
Benefits of MOWR
There are several benefits for students who participate in Move On When Ready. • Introduces students to college-level coursework. • Earning college credits while still in high school may enable
students to graduate early and/or possibly even earn an associate degree, diploma or certificate.
• Helps students adjust to certain aspects of the college experience (e.g., classes, coursework, instruction, being on a college campus) so the transition from high school to college may be easier.
• Students who participate in a dual enrollment program are more likely to go to college and get a college degree.
Benefits of MOWR (continued)
• Students may be able to take classes that are not offered at their high school, especially in subject areas they are interested in for a potential career.
• Participating in a dual enrollment program demonstrates a student’s ability to handle more difficult coursework which is something college admissions officers may look upon favorably during admissions and recruiting.
• Taking college-level classes while still in high school may build confidence and encourage those students who may not be thinking about college to reconsider.
