INFORMATION FOR MEMBERS AND EXHIBITORS

Personal Accident Insurance Policy Association Personal Accident Insurance Policy protects persons aged between 12 & 80

years volunteering as unpaid stewards and other unpaid assistants at the show.

No vehicles There will be NO vehicles around the rodeo arena. This decision has been made by the

committee for the safety of competitors and spectators.

Membership fees New memberships and renewals are to be purchased at the show office prior to the show.

Note: Membership fees will not be accepted at the gate.

Family membership: $25 per annum for admission of two adults and children of

member’s family under the age of 18 years, to all exhibits for the duration of the Show.

Single membership: $15 per annum.

Aged Pensioner membership: $8 per annum.

Gate admission – Non-members Family Pass $30. (2 Adults and children under 18 years. Each family member gets a ticket) Friday & Saturday: Adults $10 Sunday: Adults $8 Friday – Sunday: School children up to 18 years $4 Aged pensioners: $4

Drones

NO DRONES allowed on showgrounds during show. Alcohol NO ALCOHOL to be brought into the showground and no alcohol permitted around the

rodeo arena.

SECTION 17: COOKING

A. All entries to be in plastic bags with ties. Oven bags work well for cakes. B. Exhibitors tickets will be attached to the bag. C. No ring cake tins to be used. Round, square or rectangular tins only. D. No rack marks to show on cakes. E. No flour on bottom of scones. F. The Judge reserves the right not to award prizes in any class if exhibits are not up

to standard. G. Cake boards must be no larger than 20cm square, so they fit on our shelves. H. Agricultural Societies Council (ASC) of NSW co-ordinates a Special Rich Fruit Cake

competition. The winner of this category is entitled to enter the Group Final; the winner of the final is then entitled to enter the Sydney Royal Show.

THE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETIES COUNCIL OF NSW RICH FRUIT CAKE COMPETITION

The following recipe is compulsory for all entrants Here’s what you need: Here’s what you do: 250g (8 oz) sultanas Mix together all the fruits and nuts and 250 g (8 oz) chopped raisins sprinkle with the sherry or brandy. Cover and leave for at least 1 hour, but 250 g (8 oz) currants preferably overnight. 125 g (4 oz) chopped mixed peel 90 g (3oz) chopped red glace cherries Sift together the flours and spices 90 g (3 oz) chopped blanched almonds Cream together the butter and sugar with 1/3 cup sherry or brandy the essences. 250 g (8 oz) plain flour 60 g (2 oz) self raising flour Add the eggs one at a time, beating well 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg after, each addition, then alternately add 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger the fruit and flour mixtures. Mix 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves thoroughly. The mixture should be stiff 250g (8 oz) butter enough to support a wooden spoon. 250g (8 oz) soft brown sugar ½ teaspoon lemon essence OR Place the mixture into a prepared tin no finely grated lemon rind larger than 20cm (8”) and bake in a slow ½ teaspoon almond essence oven for approximately 3 ½ - 4 hours. ½ teaspoon vanilla essence Allow the cake to cool in the tin 4 large eggs . Note: To ensure uniformity and depending upon the size it is suggested the raisins be snipped into 2 or 3 pieces, cherries into 4 – 6 pieces and almonds crosswise into 3 – 4 pieces.

Entries will be taken on Friday 6 March 2020 at the Cooking Section in the Pavilion from

8:30 -10am.

Note: Judge must cut all Entries before making Awards.
