As a way to express our gratitude and to say ‘thank you’ to those who support our parish home, we will have a monthly drawing for a prime parking spot! If you are one of the many who help support our parish financially, you will have a chance to win a reserved parking spot in the front row of the parking lot for a month. Every family that actively gives to our parish will automatically be entered into the drawing and one recipient will be drawn. Our reserved parking space will be enjoyed by Brian and Dana Hall for the Month of May.

On the first Thursday of each month, parents, grandparents and the faithful gather together in our Adoration Chapel to pray for our children, grandchildren, priests, vocations, and for our Church. Being a good parent is hard. Even when we give our best, things go wrong. So much of our energy is often spent worrying and trying to solve these issues on our own. Why not put these burdens at the feet of Jesus and pray for His help and the graces our children need? He will also give us all the graces we need to be the best parents possible for our children.

The Lord does not ignore the prayers of a parent!

Join us on Thursday, May 2nd at 7Thursday, May 2nd at 7Thursday, May 2nd at 7PM PM PM for an hour of prayer and adoration as an offering of love for those whom we love. Hope to see you there!

EEEDITHDITHDITH SSSTEINTEINTEIN TTTHEHEHE SSSEVENTHEVENTHEVENTH CCCHAMBERHAMBERHAMBER This is a moving, artistic portrayal of the life of Jewish

philosopher, Catholic convert, and Carmelite martyr, Edith Stein. It captures the interior struggles of this extraordinary woman, as well as the great conflicts from her decision to convert to Catholicism. Deeply influenced by the writings of St. Teresa of Avila, she joined the Carmelites, took the name Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, was put to death in Auschwitz in 1942, and canonized by John Paul II in 1998. This film shows how two worlds, the Jew and the Christian, were united within her in absolute coherence in her search for truth. She has become one of the most beautiful symbols in a horrifying period of history because she sought to transform her sufferings under the Nazis into a journey through the “interior castle” as the way to mystical union with God. One phrase, “Love Conquers Fear,” embodies her philosophy of life. Shot in a kind of rich expressionist realism, it’s backed by poignant chant music that makes every frame haunting and alive. Actress Maia Morgenstern (The Passion of the Christ ) stars in a powerful performance as Stein. "A challenging, often fascinating film, The Seventh Chamber, is a gratifying tribute to a great saint. It shows that for Edith Stein it is only by knowing God that we know ourselves; only through Jesus that we know God; and only through the cross that we can know Jesus." - Steven Greydanus, Film Critic, Decent Films and National Catholic Register

VOCATIONS CORNERVOCATIONS CORNERVOCATIONS CORNER

Today we celebrate the 8th day of Easter, hopefully it has been a joyful week as we pulled back the veil in our lives in order to experience the powerful light that comes from the Risen Christ. In addition to joy, this Feast of Divine Mercy reminds us that we are also to experience God’s peace. Jesus repeats in the Gospel today, “Peace be with you.” These are words that must take root in our lives. God has come to give us peace! I recall in my discernment process for the priesthood a few individuals that I greatly entrusted my formation would frequently remind me that God wants me to experience tremendous inner peace. All the restless questions that rattled around in my mind and heart on whether I was smart enough, prayerful enough, social enough, courageous enough, bold enough, strong enough, holy enough, etc...They were all calmed by the fact that God didn’t want me to be a worrier, rather, a person who experiences inner peace. With all our questions, worries, fears, doubts, Jesus says to us, “peace be with you.”

LIVING ROSARY THURSDAY MAY 9THLIVING ROSARY THURSDAY MAY 9THLIVING ROSARY THURSDAY MAY 9TH

Please join us in praying the Rosary on TTHURSDAYHURSDAY, , MMAYAY 99THTH ATAT 7:307:30PMPM to end the tragedy of abortion in this country and the world. With the atrocities conducted at Planned Parenthood finally becoming exposed and reaching the ears of the public, our prayers are being answered! We need to continue praying that hearts will be converted, and that our country will no longer financially contribute to the evils that occur behind the Planned Parenthood doors.

This is a "Living Rosary" and is prayed with each person that participates praying either an "Our Father"(in English) or a "Hail Mary" in the language of their choice. Participants sit in the church pews forming a "Living Rosary". We light a candle as each "bead" is prayed. After the Rosary, we process with our lighted candles to the Meditation Garden to sing a closing Marian hymn. Light refreshments are served in Seton Hall immediately afterwards.

This is such a beautiful way to join together in prayer to our Lady asking for her powerful intercession. We do Living Rosaries in May and in October since they are months dedicated to our Blessed Mother.

We would like to see 100% participation with each of the 53 ‘Hail Marys’ and 6 ‘Our Fathers’ prayed by different individuals. That means 59 prayer-participants!

Please see the sign-up in the Narthex and join our efforts to make all people realize the sanctity of all human life...from natural conception to natural death.

TTTHEHEHE SSSTTT. V. V. VINCENTINCENTINCENT DDDEEEPPPAULAULAUL SSSOCIETYOCIETYOCIETY was once again blessed by the love and generosity of the parishioners of this wonderful parish. Many, many less fortunate neighbors will be blessed this Easter Season (and beyond) because of the efforts of Carmina Lamoutte and all of those who purchased gift cards for the Easter Giving Tree. There were 214 tags chosen from the Tree (about $3200.00) in gift cards. This is awesome! The sharing of our resources is a beautiful Lenten project. YOU, our parishioners, and Carmina, our angel, provided blessings that will be an encouragement as well as a witness to our neighbors of the love our Lord has for them. Thank you for witnessing for the love of our Resurrected Christ. “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father” (Col. 3:17)

May your deeds be abundantly blessed! You have witnessed to the poor in Jesus' Holy Name.

THANK YOU!
