I am very blessed by this assignment and I look forward to getting to see you all in the near future. Please also pray for Fr. Rose and I as we both adjust to life under one roof at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Fr. Rose and I were both in seminary at the same time and living in the same rectory house al- lows for us to pray together, more intentionally share vision, and spend time together as brothers. I am excited to be able to share a rectory together. At the same time, this also allows Fr. Miller to come back to his Corpus Christi parish home as a place to retreat from the big city of Peoria! As I have mentioned, I have a lot to learn! Life as a new priest is quite a learning curve. Life as a new pastor is an even larger one! I will certainly rely on the wisdom and knowledge of my brother priests to understand life as a pastor. I promise I will do eve- rything I can to be a good spiritual father to you. I love being a priest and I am blessed to be yours. I am excited as your priest to facilitate further op- portunities for everyone to encounter the person of Jesus Christ, to grow daily as his intentional disci- ples, and to witness as missionary disciples to the power of Jesus Christ and the difference he is mak- ing in our lives. This is a vibrant community and I am excited to grow with all of you. My email is [email protected] so please reach out to me anytime. Know of my prayers for all of you! In the heart of Christ, Fr. Galesburg Catholic Weekly Schedule

Outdoor Mass: An outdoor Mass is available on Sunday morning at 7:30 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Drive-Thru Distribution of Holy Communion: For those not yet ready to attend Mass, but would like to receive the Sacrament, this option is available after 10:00 AM Mass at Corpus Christi parking lot.

Streaming Masses: We continue to try to stream Mass each day. We are working to create a stable streaming environment in each of the parish churches. Please be patient if a stream is broken or overlooked. The next phase of streaming Masses will be an automatic stream that will be generated for each parish event.

“In the life of the body a man is sometimes sick, and unless

he takes medicine, he will die. Even so in the spiritual life a

man is sick on account of sin. For that reason he needs

medicine so that he may be restored to health; and this

grace is bestowed in the Sacrament of Penance.

Wednesdays 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM The Most Blessed Sacrament is not a relic or a

memory, it is Jesus Himself. He is all-powerful, all loving, all-perfect and anxiously waiting for us to visit. All the treasures and wonders of this world are nothing compared to who we find in Adora-

tion. Will you reserve time to be with Jesus?

In celebration of The Feast of St Francis of Assisi, Corpus Christi Church will hold its annual “blessing of the pets” on Friday October 2nd.

The feast commemorates the life of St Francis, who was born in the 12th century and is the Catholic Church’s patron saint of animals and the environment. It is a popular day for pets to be “blessed” because of St Francis’ love for animals as ex-pressed in his Canticle of Creatures.

Blessings will take place at 1:30 pm, and 5:30 pm in the church playground. All pets should be on a leash or in a se-cure crate or pet carrier as the church cannot be responsible for any accidents. Also, masks and social distancing will be observed.

May God, who created the animals of this earth as a help and companions to us, continue to protect and sustain them with the grace his blessing brings now and forever.

AMEN
