RPS Weekly Newsletter
Dear Parents & Carers,
Welcome back! I hope you had a relaxing
half term and enjoyed the sunshine last
weekend. Blossoms are appearing on the
trees, and snowdrops are sprouting in the
gardens– there is a definite feel that spring is
on its way.
Assembly: This week’s assembly focused on
creativity and we cannot wait to see all the
amazing structures that the children create
for their Art project by the end of next week.
Get building!
Full opening: Following the Prime Ministers
announcement, we are delighted that the
children will return to school on the 8th March
and we can at last resume face to face
teaching with all our children. We have
missed them! This will give us three and half
weeks for the children to settle back into the
rhythm of school life before Easter.
Hygiene: We will continue to ensure that
strict hygiene standards and social
distancing rules are followed whenever this is
possible. I will send a more detailed letter
regarding this on Monday.
Attendance in school will be compulsory
unless a child is unwell or has received a
shielding letter. If this is the case please
contact the school and inform Lisa Salkeld-
Townsley providing evidence of the shielding
letter. We will expect to see all other
children return to school on the 8th March.
Uniform Children are required to wear full
school uniform when they return on the 8th
March.
FSM vouchers: Next week will be the final
week of receiving these from Edenred.
Remote Learning and Interventions: Remote
Learning is still in place next week so children
should access online learning and join TEAMS
sessions as normal until they return on the 8th
March. This includes online interventions.
Parents Day: This week we started our
Parents Day appointments and we hope
these conversations have been useful. If you
have an appointment scheduled for next
week, please make sure you check your
emails and log on to the Teams meetings at
the appropriate time or email the teacher
and request they call you at your allocated
time slot.
Class Parent Days are as below.
Next Thursday 4th March is World Book Day.
We look forward to seeing all children dress
up as their favourite book character
whether in school or at home.
I hope you have a restful weekend!
We are excited to celebrate World Book Day this Thursday 4th March! Along
with children all over the country, we will be delving into the magical world of
books and taking part in a variety of events...
• Dress up as a character from your favourite book! We are always so
impressed with the creativity of the costumes at RPS and can't wait to
see what you come up with. If you are at home, please still join in and
send us pictures of yourselves dressed up!
• Spend your book token! Every child will be getting a £1 book token
which can be exchanged for a World Book Day book or used
to reduce the cost of a book of your choice. Those not at school will be
given their tokens on Monday 8th March.
• Watch the World Book Day assembly video, WBD song and a video
revealing the exciting books available to exchange for your token. All
can be found on the school website.
• Take part! Children in school will be taking part in virtual workshops with
West End Schools, bringing some of our favourite stories to life through
dance, drama and song.
• Take part! Children at home are invited to join 3 live events across the
week, featuring a range of authors and TV personalities. Please visit the
world book day channel to access the
events. https://www.youtube.com/user/WorldBookDay2012

Safety is our priority

return to school will look like and what we have put into place to ensure your child is
not only kept safe but they are able to enjoy our delicious food and great service.
Dear Parents,
Our priority for the return to school is the safety of all children, our teaching colleagues
and our own teams. The Health and Safety measures introduced at the start of the
pandemic such as social distancing and new cleaning COVID-19 procedures will stay in
place to keep everyone safe. Please watch our short video to see how we will be
re-opening our schools to all pupils here.

items we had on offer prior to the latest lockdown. Please get in touch with your school
to confirm your menu and to order your meals for week commencing the 8th of March.

pupils with medical dietary requirements. Please take a look at our Medical Diets video to
hear a Chartwells parent talk about their experience using our Medical Diets process here.
