(vi) If the crossing is provided with a guarding, a minimum clearance of 2000 mm shall bemaintained between the bottom of the guard wire and highest traction conductor.

(vii) Clearance "at fixed structu;e" are to adopted if the OHE structurelfixed structureis within 6000 mrrrof nearest conductor of overhead crossing

(viii) Power line crossings in yard shall be avoided.

(ix) For double stack coritainer routes, the clearances for electrified/non-electrified willremain the same. The clearances stipulated in Col.7 & 8 are with eference to 9Yz ft. heightcontainer double stacked on BLCA wagons of floor height of I 009 mrn above rail level.

(b) In case of existing crossings a special clearance study shall be made as indicated in Clause21.1 of ACTM to be reintroduced as under: ~

Clause 21.5

.•.

'-It is desirable to provide maximum possible clearances in the case ofpower line from the highest traction conductor used for electric traction.Based on the clearance study, reduced clearances, with approval of ErG,and subject to observance of clearances in Column 4 of Table in Para 17.3may be adopted.

4Such reduced clearances would be subject to any special safeguards thatmay be prescribed by EIG while granting these relaxations.

Wherever feasible, special design of tr'J,ction overhead equipment, returnconductor, 2S kY feeder or other power line on traction mast/structureshould be developed keeping in view the" need for economy and otherrequirements, if any.

lf nflcr special clcuruncc Sillily of'cxisling crosxing, the power line crossingis to be modified, the SUllie shull be dune to provide the cleuruncesprescribed in columns S, 6, 7 & 8 as the case may be.

The relaxation to adopt reduced clearances shall not be applicable for newpower line crossings .
