The environment

An innovative leap is currently taking place under the keywords of social media and “FINTECH” (finance technology). Many banking services are being redefined. This includes technologies related to e-commerce, mobile payments, crowdlending, crowdinvesting and asset management. The result will be a future in which many services are only offered electronically.

Today's generation of clients has new expectations when it comes to transparency and flexibility. Modern asset managers act quickly, effectively and transparently. They facilitate an independent yet customised solution and serve as clients' professional link to all new technologies. This next-generation offer optimises innovation, advancements, cleverness, coolness and smartness.

Client of the future What characterises a “next generation client”? They are self-confident, quick, competent, global and demanding:

1. Communications: Clients want to be able to contact the bank at any time via Facebook, Twitter, Skype or WhatsApp.

2. Private equity or crowdinvesting: They want simplified access to platforms like c-crowd and Kickstarter where funding can be sought for newly founded companies or projects.

3. Tools: Countless finance apps exist which generate added value for clients. These can be used to query master data, receive business news, create portfolios, enter payments, draw up charts, convert currencies, etc.

4. Crowdlending: Another type of lending is transacted directly between lenders and borrowers via social lending platforms. Loans of this type are not intended to fund any specific project, the focus is on the monetary transaction. Examples of this include cashare.ch, auxmoney.com and ratesetter.com.

5. Asset management: Asset managers of the future will provide clients with platforms where they can manage their investments themselves. Examples of this include True Wealth (Swiss online bank), BlackRock (fully automatic asset allocation on an ETF basis). There are even communities like Wikifolio which offer investment products that allow clients to invest directly in the investment strategies of well-known traders.
