Participated in DD Kashmir and Radio Programmes on regular basis for promoting IGNOU
in Kashmir division including Leh & Laddakh.Constant touch with Higher education
deprtments of J&K, Educational institutions, Universites and other relevant organizations.
Frequent meetings and interaction is being done with Principals of colleges, rganisations,
NGOs and Schools. Awareness camps conducted in Kulgam, Shopian, Anantnag, Uri,
Kupwara, Bandipoora,Larnoo, Doru Shahbad,Gurez, K.B. pora and districts . During visits
the farflung and remote areas were visited and the awareness about IGNOU and its
programmes was done. I am in constant touc with the areas of valley that remained

unreached and are underprivileged.Admission from such areas show and increase in
Enrollments. Met with Dr. M.S. Swaminathan along with other team members on 22.02.15
to discuss about collaborative efforts for education in rural areas.We are running FB page
for better SSS. The page has shown tremendous response in terms of queries and other
information pertaining to examination and other activites in LSCs. Duting the Sept.2014
devastating flood that struck the entire Kashmir our FB page was the only the source of
information to our learners, staff members from RCs and LSCs. The queries are also
received from all over the country. We keep on regularly updating the page and queries are
being answered.Practical based programmesare being promoted. Some of the practical
based programmes i.e. BSC, BCA, MCA and MSCDFSM were in controvery as the
Kashmir University has barred the students of these programmes for pursuing higher
education in KU. The matter was brought in the notice of Hqrs. and taken up with state
govt. and KU administration, which finally resolved.

Details on development of local facilities / collaboration with the Universities:
I have collaborated Shere Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences for internship of MSCDFSM.
Met with Chairma J&K Bank for sponsoring candidates for related programmes and MBA and discussed the sale of IGNOU prospectus from their Khidmat centers in far-flung and remote areas of J&K.
I have made efforts to collaborate with Kashmir University to establish Gyan-Vani Stations and got MOU signed by KU authorities.
I had meeting with VC, Agriculture University Srinagar to start PSC for Water Shed management and other SOA programmes.
I have made efforts for the allotment of land to IGNOU with higher Govt. officials.
I have advised to the Hqrs. about the establishment of new SCs ,PSCs on the basis of geography, population and academic requirements.
