Registration• Registration for the convention is quick and easy. To

register online or to access a printed registration form go to the convention page at www.avca.org and click on the registration button. If you have any questions feel free to contact AVCA Headquarters at [email protected] or 866-544-2822.

• Please pay special attention to the deadlines as noted on the Web site. For the best deal be sure to register by the early bird deadline of November 5. Registering by this date can save you up to $100.

• The AVCA Convention is the place to network, become better informed about our sport and to learn the latest techniques in coaching. These events will help you do all of these things and more!

AVCA Volleyball Marketplace

• Anything and everything volleyball can be found in the AVCA Volleyball Marketplace.

• The Marketplace offers access to over 100 vendors who are there to show you the newest products and services available in the sport.

• Many exhibitors have show specials exclusively for AVCA member coaches so be sure to take advantage of these discounts.

• Participate in the AVCA Scavenger Hunt drawing and win prizes.

Educational Seminars• Whether you coach at the college, high school or club level the AVCA

Convention offers educational sessions that are sure to make you a better coach and leader.

• The schedule includes nearly 70 on-court, classroom and sand sessions with topics ranging from coaching philosophy and in-game strategy to training techniques and new drill ideas. Seminar highlights include a pre-convention seminar led by USC Head Coach Mick Haley as well as sessions from recruiting expert Dan Tudor, John Dunning, Carl McGown, Anne Kordes, Fran Flory, Terry Pettit, John Kosty and USA Olympic team coaches Hugh McCutcheon and Alan Knipe.

• First time convention attendees are encouraged to attend “AVCA Convention 101: What Every First Time Attendee Needs to Know” from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 15. This presentation will be conducted by Winthrop University Assistant Coach Chuck Rey.

AVCA Talent Showcase• The AVCA Talent Showcase is a recruiting event

developed for coaches attending the AVCA Convention. High school sophomore, junior and senior volleyball players who are uncommitted and unsigned as well as junior college players will be invited to this event as an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of volleyball coaches.

• The event will be held from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 19 in the Kansas City Convention Center.

• The NCAA has granted an exemption for coaches to participate so make plans to stay over on Sunday for this event.

Other Things You Should Know• The AVCA Career Center is located in the AVCA Volleyball

Marketplace. You can post your resume, view open positions, schedule an interview room and more.

• Make sure to visit the Coaches Zone. Located in the center of the AVCA Volleyball Marketplace, this is your area to meet friends and take a break from the day. A Message and E-mail Center will be available so you can check messages and stay in touch.

• AVCA staff will be dressed in business attire and have a blue staff ribbon on their badge. Feel free to ask staff members any questions you may have while you are at the convention.

Volunteer

One of the best ways to jump right

into the convention is to volunteer during the event. This is a great way to learn more about your association and meet new coaches from around the country. Visit the “Convention Volunteer” section on the AVCA Web site for more information.
