    1.05 MAINTENANCE DATA

    A. Maintenance Data: lubrication requirements andfrequency, periodic adjustments required required, andspare parts list.

    2. PART 2 - PRODUCTS

    2.01 MATERIALS

    A. Grille Curtain: Consisting of a network of 8-mmminimum diameter horizontal rods, or rods coveredwith tube spacers, spaced as indicated.

Interconnect rods by vertical links approximately 16mm wide, spaced as indicated and rotating on rods.

    1. Aluminum Grilles: Aluminum grilles conforming toASTM B 221 with powder coating finish 60-80 micronthickness.

    B. Endlocks: Continuous end links, chains, or otherdevices at ends of rods, locking and retaining grillecurtain in guides against excessive pressures, maintaining curtain alignment, and preventing lateralmovement.

    C. Bottom Bar: Consisting of extruded shape or 2 angles, not less than 3 mm thick, metal to match grilles.

    D. Astragal: Provide a replaceable, adjustable, continuous, compressible gasket of flexible vinyl,

    rubber, or neoprene.

    E. Provide motor-operated grilles with combinationbottom astragal and sensor edge.

    F. Curtain Jamb Guides: Manufacturer's standardextruded-aluminum shape, with continuous integralwear strips and removable stops on guides.

    G. Hood: Metal to match slats. Manufacturer's standardmetal thickness and hood shape. Provide closed endsfor surface-mounted hoods and fascia for any portionof between-jamb mounting projecting beyond wall face.Provide intermediate support brackets as required toprevent sag.

    H. Hardware: Manufacturer's standard push/pull handlesfor push-up-operated or emergency-operated grillesand locking device.

    I. Where grille unit is power operated, provide safetyinterlock switch to disengage power supply whengrille is locked.

    J. Mounting Tube Frame: Manufacturer's standard mountingtube frame designed to support grille; factoryfabricated from structural-steel tubes; fastened to

floor and structure above grille; to be built intowall construction; and complete with anchors, connections, and fasteners.

    K. Counterbalance: Adjustable, oil-tempered, heat-treated steel helical torsion springs mounted aroundstructural carbon-steel pipe, and contained in barrelof sufficient diameter and wall thickness to supportrolled-up curtain without distortion of slats and tolimit barrel deflection to not more than 2.5 mm/m ofspan under full load. With grease-sealed bearings orself-lubricating graphite bearings.

    L. Brackets: Manufacturer's standard design, eithercast-iron or cold-rolled steel plate.

    M. Finishes: Powder coating finish 60-80 micron thickness.Color shall be as selected and approved by theEngineer.

    N. Push-up Operation: Design counterbalance mechanism sorequired lift or pull for grille operation does notexceed 111 N.

    2.02 ELECTRIC OPERATOR

    A. Electric Grille Operator: Type, size, and capacity

recommended and provided by grille manufacturer forgrille and operational life specified, with electricmotor and factory-prewired motor controls, starter,gear-reduction unit, solenoid-operated brake, clutch,remote-control stations, control devices, integralgearing for locking grille, disconnect device, emergency auxiliary operator, and accessoriesrequired for proper operation. Comply with NFPA 70 .Design operator so motor may be removed withoutdisturbing limit-switch adjustment and withoutaffecting emergency auxiliary operator.

    3. PART 3 - EXECUTION

    2.01 EXAMINATION

    B. Use anchorage devices to securely fasten assembly towall construction and building framing without

    distortion or stress.

    C. Securely brace components suspended from structure.Secure guides to structural members only.

    D. Fit and align assembly including hardware; level andplumb, to provide smooth operation.

    E. Installation of Electrical Service: Comply with therequirements of Division 16 - ELECTRICAL. Completewiring from disconnect to unit components.

    F. Coordinate installation of sealants and backingmaterials at frame perimeter as specified in Section07900 - SEALANTS.

    G. Install perimeter trim and closures.

    2.03 ERECTION TOLERANCES

    A. Maintain dimensional tolerances and alignment withadjacent work.

    B. Maximum Variation From Plumb: 1.5 mm.

    C. Maximum Variation From Level: 1.5 mm.

    D. Longitudinal or Diagonal Warp: Plus or minus 3 mm per 3m straight edge.
