MUST - OBLIGATION
Must est un modal.
Il exprime une obligation.
Structure très simple.
Must + base verbale
Example:
You must go to school.
TURN THE SENTENCE INTO AN OBLIGATION➤ I take a shower after school. (shower = douche)
➤ I ride my bike to school. (ride a bike = monter à vélo)
➤ I eat my soup at night.
➤ I am on time at school. (on time = à l’heure)
➤ I go to bed early. (early = tôt)
➤ I respect the nature.
➤ You protect wild animals.
➤ We recycle the waste. (waste = ordures)
➤ We throw the garbage in the bin.
MUST - NEGATION
Must + not + base verbale
Mustn’t + base verbale
Examples:
You must not chat in class.
You mustn’t chat in class.
CHANGE INTO A NEGATIVE SENTENCE➤ You must drop litter. (drop litter = jeter des ordures à terre)
➤ We must pollute the earth.
➤ They must kill the white giraffe.
➤ You must hunt wild animals. (hunt = chasser)
➤ You must take a bath everyday. (take a bath = prendre un bain)
➤ We must leave the lights on all day.
➤ You must ride a big car.
➤ They must cut the rainforest. (rainforest = forêt tropicale)
➤ I must throw plastic bottles in the ocean. (throw = jeter)
