DriveSol Pedal Boxes
Remploy Automotive has been supplying pedal box assemblies sinceJune 2006 to DriveSol, one of theworld’s largest vehicle component manufacturers, which operates 20 sitesin 12 countries and has a turnover of$35m.
Under the deal Remploy Automotiveassembles and supplies more than100,000 pedal box units per year whichare fitted to X83 platform vans built byGeneral Motors & Renault Nissan.
Remploy‘s pedal boxes are fitted onVauxhall and Opel Vivaro, Renault Traficand Nissan Primastar commercial vansused extensively throughout Europe.
Parts are shipped from DriveSol’smanufacturing sites in Sweden to Remploy Automotive’s Coventry factory,where special production cells havebeen introduced. Up to 450 per day ofthe final pedal box units are delivereddaily to General Motors GMM vanoperation in Luton and up to 360 finished units per day are also shippedto Nissan’s van plant in Barcelona,Spain.
The pedal box units – which house brake and clutch pedals – are a safetycritical feature of vehicles and have tobe built to very demanding standards.Remploy Automotive use theirrenowned poka-yoke assemblyprocesses to ensure right-first-timebuild quality. The Coventry site boastsa world class Quality Managementpedigree and is ISO9001, TS16949,ISO14001, PAS99 and Ford Q1 Quality systemaccredited.
