THE STORY OF OUR REDEMPTION We begin the final week of Lent with these familiar readings. This year, we hear the Passion from the Gospel of Luke. These readings for Palm Sunday and the Passion used to be read on successive Sundays. Now they are combined into a single feast, so that we may see the whole sweep of the glory and the suffering played out. Jesus accepts the adulation of the crowd, the foreshadowing of his glory in the Resurrection. He bids farewell to his disciples in his last Passover, and forgives his tormentors as he dies on the cross. Later this week, we enter the Holy Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, when the whole story of our redemption will play out once again. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

From the Pastor’s Desk My Dearly Beloved!

Today I am asking you to please, read the Cardinal Cupich Easter letter to the faithful. Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

As we walk on our life journeys in this world, we may often feel overwhelmed. Struggle and suffering can mark our lives because of health issues, job insecurity, family concerns, or the painful loss of a loved one. The world itself, in Saint Paul’s words, “has been groaning” (Roman 8:22), as it struggles with wars, violence, ecological degradation, economic injustice, and natural disasters. And as we are keenly aware this past year, the Church herself has struggled mightily with the shameful legacy of abuse and its mismanagement. t seems that the landscape of our lives is entirely shaped by struggle and suffering. And that might seem to be the sum and substance of it all, but, in faith, we know that it is not. Our celebration of the Lord’s Resurrection in this Easter season opens our eyes beyond this desperate landscape to a new and hope-filled horizon. There is more to the story than our struggle and suffering. In the Resurrection of Jesus, we can begin to see a new life ahead of us that God offers to us. As we go forth in this Easter season, I am reminded of the great Psalm 118 that the Church so often prays: I was thrust down, thrust down and falling, but the Lord was my helper. The Lord is my strength and my song;

and has been my savior. There are shouts of joy and victory in the tents of the just. (vv. 13-15) May this Easter season renew within you and your loved ones the conviction that God is your helper and an abiding awareness of your victory in the Risen Lord Jesus. Sincerely yours in Christ, Blase Cardinal Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago ”Jesus, I Trust in You”! Fr. Mariusz

PRO LIFE Thank you to all who opened their heart and bought Paczki to help some unborn babies from a violent death. Our profit totaled $1,847.00 and will allow us to continue our efforts. We hope everyone enjoyed the before Lent treat! God bless you all! We are also in much need of help to “spread the word” when we have important news needed to be brought to our friends and relatives in a timely manner. Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza

Parafialna Spowiedź Wielkopostna w j. angielskim, polskim i hiszpańskim odbędzie się w naszym kościele w Wielką Środę 17 kwietnia godz. 11:00 rano do 1:00 po południu oraz od godz. 6:00 do godz. 9:00 wieczorem.

WIELKI TYDZIEŃ

Moi Kochani!

Dziś proszę was, abyście się zapoznali z listem Wielkanocnym ks. kardynała Blase Cupich. Drogie Siostry i drodzy Bracia w Chrystusie,

Idąc drogą życia we współczesnym świecie, często czujemy się przytłoczeni różnymi wydarzeniami. Nasze życie bywa naznaczone walką i cierpieniem z powodu problemów zdrowotnych, ryzyka pozbawienia nas pracy, zmagań rodzinnych lub bolesnej utraty bliskiej osoby. W naszej historii chodzi o coś więcej niż jedynie o walkę i cierpienie. Szczerze oddany Wam w Chrystusie, Kardynał Blase Cupich, Arcybiskup Chicago

„Jezu, ufam Tobie”! Fr. Mariusz
