Thunderstorms
These are very common here.
They have strong winds, heavy rain, lightning, and thunder.
How to tell if a storm is far away: If you hear the
thunder at the same time as you see the lightning, the storm is right above you.
If you see the lightning and then hear the thunder, the storm is farther away from you.

Hurricanes
These are formed in tropical areas. Form from thunderstorms.
There are really strong winds and a lot of rain, sometimes thunderstorms.
There are a lot of floods with hurricanes.
In the middle of the storm is what’s called an eye. This is a pause in the storm, but the other half still has to pass through.
