What is the PACE Network?

• PACE = Professional Activities Committees for Engineers

• The PACE Network is a grassroots network of IEEE volunteers and committees organized at the section and chapter level in the United States with support from their respective IEEE Regions and IEEE-USA.

• The goal of the PACE Network is to promote the professional interests of IEEE's U.S. members as well as provide a mechanism for communication of members' views on their professional needs.

• Section PACE Chairs are invited to attend the meeting for networking opportunities and to gain and learn valuable skills and resources

• The mission of the National Engineers Week Future City Competitionis to provide a fun and exciting educational engineering program for seventh- and eighth-grade students that combines a stimulating engineering challenge with a "hands-on" application to present their vision of a city of the future.

Symposia• Held Engineering R&D Symposium educating volunteers on the federal

engineering R&D budget and the innovation and competitiveness initiatives (May 17 and May 18)

• More than forty U.S. IEEE members joined over 300 engineers and scientists to participate in the eleventh annual Science-Engineering-Technology (SET) Congressional Visits Day (CVD). The IEEE was among the 42 organizations represented at the two-day event that brings scientists, engineers, researchers, educators, and technology executives to Washington to raise visibility and support for science, engineering and technology through in-person visits with members of Congress (28-29 March)
