The Rose, White and Blue 4th of July Parade and Festival is celebrating its 10th year as an annual
community event and San Jose’s largest 4th of July Parade. The Parade takes place on July 4th
from 10:00 a.m. until Noon and features over 100 parade units with more than 2,000 parade
participants and is enjoyed by more than 30,000 spectators who line the streets along the
Parade route through the neighborhoods along The Alameda to watch the Parade.
Our post parade activities commence directly afterwards in the Festival and Picnic Area at The
Alameda and Shasta Avenue at the Westminster Presbyterian Church and surrounding area.
Festival activities include opening ceremony, live music with Big Mike and The Heartbeats,
children’s play zone and picnic area where attendees can enjoy food from our local restaurants
or featured gourmet food trucks. Our festival booths offer businesses and organizations an
opportunity to connect with the local families and residents in a fun-filled environment.
The Rose, White and Blue 4th of July Parade and Festival is a 501(3)C Non-profit organization
and sponsorships and donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
This year The Rose, White and Blue 4th of July Parade and Festival celebrates a seminal year with
our 10th anniversary along the Alameda as we become the longest running parade on the Alameda – out lasting our historical counterparts the Carnival of Roses and the Fiesta de Las
Rosas.
This year we pay homage to public transportation by honoring Supervisor Dave Cortese as the
Grand Marshall of the 2017 Parade. Supervisor Cortese is a local champion for more effective
transportation modes as shown through his work as the President of the Santa Clara County
Board of Supervisors, Chair of the Housing, Land Use, Environment and Transportation
Committee, Chair of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, and as a past member of the
Valley Transportation Authority.
Additionally, we will be honoring the entire Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors for their
work on the various Board Policy Committees that help to guide and shape the future here in
‘the Valley of Heart’s Delight’.

Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability (Indemnity/Hold Harmless Agreement)
Participation in the Rose, White & Blue Parade and/or the related Festival/Picnic to be held on
July 4, 2017 (hereinafter “Events”) shall be at the Participant’s own risk.
Participant assumes full responsibility for any injuries or damages, and does hereby release and
discharge the City of San Jose, the Alameda Business Association, and parade committee
members, as well as their respective departments, representatives, members, officers, agents,
and employees from any and all claims, demands, damages, rights or causes of action present
or future resulting from the undersigned’s participation in the Events.
I/we hereby understand, voluntarily agree and chose to accept any and all risks, including
bodily/personal injury, property damage, and/or other damages which I/we may incur or cause
a third party to incur as a result of my/our active and/or passive participation in the Events.
I/we assume on behalf of ourselves, successors, assigns, heirs, executors, and administrators,
and any other person or entities who/which may have a claim based on my/our personal injuries
and/or property damage, full responsibility for all risks, and any injuries and damages associated
with the Events, and agree not to bring against, and do hereby waive, release and discharge the
City of San Jose, the Alameda Business Association, and parade committee members, as well as
their respective departments, representatives, members, officers, officials, agents, volunteers
and employees from any and all claims, demands, damages, right or causes of action present or
future, known or unknown, resulting from the undersigned’s participation in the Events.
Photography - Image Release
I/we understand that the The Alameda Business Association (ABA) and/or the “Rose, White, and
Blue 4th of July Parade & Festival” (RWBPF), and/or their representatives may photograph or
videotape the events or activities in which Participant(s) have requested to participate.
I/we give permission for any photograph, video or audio of myself, our business or organization
participants (and/or any minor children in our group) obtained during Parade participation
activities at the “Rose, White, and Blue 4th of July Parade & Festival” (RWBPF), to be used in
informational material and for publicity, training and promotional purpose by the The Alameda
Business Association (ABA) and/or the “Rose, White, and Blue 4th of July Parade & Festival”
(RWBPF), and/or their representatives and/or their partners/sponsors. I hereby acknowledge
that NO compensation of any kind will be paid to ANY Participant(s) at this time or at any time in
the future for the use of ANY Participant(s) likeness.

and included releases on behalf of the Sponsor / Participant(s) .

All applications are subject to the approval of the Rose, White and Blue 4th of July
Parade and Festival Board of Directors. If you are not accepted as a Sponsor, your
payment will be refunded. Once your Sponsorship application has been approved by
the Board of Directors and processed, the fees paid will become fully non-refundable.
