Risks to which area of the municipality

of Center Sarajevo is exposed: EarthquakeAccording to seismic maps, territory of Center is located in the zone between 6 and 7 degrees of MCS High snow driftsAn increase in the amount of snow was recorded, from 48 cm - as it was recorded in 1984. up to 107 cm in February 2012. Landslide and subsidence130 registered landslides in 2013. FiresThe area is especially endangered by fires - 175 fires in homes, containers and low vegetation was registered during 2012. Other risks Winds, the appearance of hailstones and droughtThe most unfavorable effects of drought are reflected in the drinking water supply

Activities undertaken by the Municipality so that appearance and

impacts of disasters would have been reduced:

Municipal and Civil Protection Headquarters are formed in all local communities

Medical assistance service, Fire protection service, Rescue service from height, Rescue service from ruins and Public utility service

Procurement of: van with equipment for reanimation and medical devices, fire engine, tanks for water delivery and other firefighting equipment, universal vehicle for cleaning of narrow streets, and other necessary equipment (amount of about 800.000 €)

Projects in the field of protection and rescue: repairing landslides (2.5 million €), repairing shelters, equipping Civil Protection Headquarters

Municipality Center Sarajevo is the first municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina which joined the Campaign “Making cities resilient: My city is getting ready”
