WELCOME TO THE ELEVENTH INTERNATIONAL MULTIHULL SHOW! Having celebrated our tenth anniversary in style, we are now looking forward to the next decade with the same determination and goal: satisfying all the expectations and demands of the multihull industry… Having listened to what you have told us, we have chosen a new name, a new visual identity and are trying to meet everyone’s requirements. This strategy will help us to continue to step up our international development. Wishing to keep the friendly, yet professional atmosphere of the show, we are keen to pay attention to the needs and desires of the constantly evolving multihull market. It is now clear to all that catamarans and trimarans, whether sailboats or powerboats, need to be treated in a very special way, in terms of communications, how they are displayed and their image. This show uniquely dedicated to multihulls must remain the perfect ally in these areas and we are doing our utmost to achieve that and promote this style of leisure activity and boating. Once again this year, we will have the opportunity to present many new products for the first time in Europe or in the world. This confirms the thriving development and good health of this boating sector. With boats with two or more hulls, which are more spacious and comfortable, better equipped and perform better with wider and wider product ranges on offer from builders, the superlatives come one after another to satisfy the market and please the client. This year, we will be adding more pontoons and filling up the harbour in order to welcome the everincreasing numbers of exhibitors and visitors and set up the best showcase possible for multihulls. The unfailing support of the Region “Occitanie”, Department “Hérault34”, town and port of “La Grande Motte”, which have become a symbol in the world of multihulls, is an additional asset to help us achieve our goals and ensure the reputation and global fame of the show. We would like to take advantage of these few lines to thank them and indeed all those who help and support us in this adventure. Philippe MICHEL & Frédéric MORVANT

The concept of the International Multihull Show was launched in 2009. The fact that catamarans and trimarans are on display fully configured in the water, and that economic constraints have restricted logistical costs, help to explain the success of this boat show reserved exclusively for multihulls. That is why in April each year the harbour in La Grande Motte hosts the biggest display of cruising multihulls. Alongside the dock, the exhibitors’ village is home to the whole sector with the various suppliers, chandleries, charter firms, sailmakers, transporters, insurance and banking companies, etc.

FIGURES CONCERNING THE GLOBAL MULTIHULL SECTOR Since 2010, when the first show dedicated exclusively to multihulls was set up, we have seen the growing enthusiasm from exhibitors, visitors and fans of multihulls with a very cosmopolitan range of visitors, which has led us to go for a more international name: International Multihull Show. There is an ever increasing number of keen exhibitors, whether they are equipment suppliers, service providers or builders, who have no hesitation in launching their new products for the first time at this internationally renowned show. In this extremely lively market, we have seen the arrival of new brands, such as Excess, Windelo, Kinetic, …and this is both a national and international development. If we compare the two big families of monohulls and multihullls, we can see a clear trend in favour of the catamaran and trimaran sectors. THE FRENCH PRODUCTION Sailing France with a turnover of 1.23 billion Euros for the production of pleasure boats, remains the clear leader in the market for monohull and multihull sailboats with a turnover of around 760 million Euros and respectively an increase of 15% and 80% in the export market share.

• Turnover for cruising monohulls: 350 million €, an increase of 7% • Turnover for cruising multihulls: 410 million €, an increase of 20%

These numbers are very significant for France, which represents 75% of the global production of sailboats. This production is largely divided up between the following yards:

• Lagoon (Bénéteau Group, global leader), 500 units/year • Fountaine Pajot, 240 units/year • BaliCatana, 140 units/year

They are followed by the Outremer, Privilège, Neel, Marsaudon Composites brands, etc. Powerboats The power catamaran market continues its development in France, with a turnover between 50 and 60 million euros. In this smaller market, the segment of 3550 ft boats, the Fountaine Pajot yards remains the most active and will present a big unit of 67 ft. On this side, Lagoon and Bali continue their development with units respectively of 65/78 ft and 40/43 ft.

• Turnover for French production is therefore around 500 million € for between 900 and 1,000 boats. An international market Although there are no official figures, we estimate the global production of multihulls to be between 1,200 and 1,400 units:

• 1,0001,200 sailboats (85% of the market) • 150200 powerboats (15% of the market)

Behind France, South Africa is the world’s second biggest producer. Each year, the Robertson & Caine yards produce 180 units, with smaller production from a wide range of other yards in South Africa: Xquisite, Royal Cape catamaran, Knysna among others... In the rest of the world, there are many shipyards with a more limited level of production. French native brands, such as Nautitech, which was taken over by the German Bavaria and Privilège controlled by Hanse, show the interest of big international groups for multihull industry.

Architects from all four corners of the world have informed us that there are many new products being developed and they will be even more surprising and ingenious, whether we are looking at series boats or one off builds. This market, which continues to amaze us, can clearly look forward to good times ahead. The power catamaran in constant progression Fountaine Pajot: 37 ft, 40 and 44 ft boats and a 67 footer is being prepared / 60 units per year Robertson & Caine (Leopard): 43 ft, 53 ft boats / 60 units per year Aquila: 32 ft to 48 ft Lagoon: 65 ft, 78 ft Bali: 40, 43 ft Sunreef: 40 to 210 ft Aventura: 10 and 14 meters ... We can note that the trend is for clients who previously bought sailboats or powerboats to move towards large power catamarans. To remind everyone, there are many arguments in favour of catamarans: ratio of length to volume, stability, reduced consumption, more welcoming and spacious. In these markets, the Sunreef, Catamaris, Licia, Privilège and indeed JFA shipyards remain the best performers for limited series boats and one offs. We have also seen the appearance of electrically propelled multihulls developed by the Serenity and Silent yards. The charter market The charter market is today growing rapidly and we can see various trends here. On the one hand, the large fleets of charter boats like Dream Yacht Charter, Sunsail, Moorings, Kiriacoulis and Navigare, which represent 35 to 40% of the boats sold by builders. On the other hand, 40% of the production purchased by individuals are managed by smaller charter firms with more personalised programmes. At the same time, we have seen the development of companies like Vogavecmoi, Samboat and Skippair in a marketplace between private individuals. Today’s clients are more interested in the use of the boat, rather than the ownership, access and regular changes in where they sail. That is why programmes from charter firms offering a change of boat have met with a lot of success. The future New technologies and digital equipment are now part of our daily life and the world of boating is no exception… foils, electric motors, onboard electronics and telecommunications offer examples of that, without forgetting the progress in terms of safety, sail technology, composite materials… The next edition of the International Multihull Show will be the ideal way to discover all that! BALI 4.8 WORLD PREMIERE In line with the 5.4 model, the Bali 4.8 offers a life, a natural circulation. The front door allows access to the Bali cockpit at the same level. From 3 cabins (in its owner version) to 6 cabins (in its charter version), the Bali 4.8 also offers the possibility of a berth in each forepeak designed for a crew. Worthy of a unit of more than 55 ft, the volumes are gigantic, both in the square/cockpit, and on the Flybridge. 100m2 in total, useful and usable surface! Novel in this size!

BALI CATSPACE WORLD PREMIERE AFLOAT With a unique vision of space on a catamaran, Bali knew how to decline its concept of open space on a 40' unit. A boat always openplan, rigid, marine, ventilated, comfortable, and offering 4 identical cabins, including 2 facing the sea. The only 12metre catamaran to offer a large flybridge, a front cockpit and an interior volume that does not compromise its sailing skills.

AVENTURA 44 NEW The Aventura shipyard is continuing to renew their range of catamarans, signed by Lasta Design and the STGI design team. The Aventura 44 is the manufacturer’s largest sailing multihull, a new addition to the cruising catamaran sector. Elegant with its slightly inverted bows, stepped hulls and a wellproportioned coachroof, it works well under sail and is very well placed in terms of price. The deck layout to starboard the helm station is perfectly coherent for singlehanded operation. Sail trimming is easy to perform; note the really ergonomic mainsheet traveller. Available in 3 or 4 cabin versions.

EXCESS 15 Excess Catamarans is the new brand from Groupe Bénéteau, which already owns Lagoon, the world leader with nearly 45% of the market share. Generously canvassed, a little lighter than her Lagoon ancestor, she is equipped with wheel steering on both hulls for more direct helmfeel and better weight centering (no flybridge). The vocation of the 15 remaines comfortable cruising for a sportier clientele. Inside, the volume and design of the raised saloon are very attractive, and there is plenty of light in the hulls. A lot of the fittings are appreciated, such as the folding targatop bimini.

EXCESS 11 WORLD PREMIERE AFLOAT Excess 11 has benefited from the experience of her elders, without sacrificing all the comfort attributes needed for enjoyable cruising. Add to this a volume worthy of a larger boat, whether in the saloon or in the cabins, with for example a 2 by 2meter (6½’x6½’) bed in the owner's cabin or bathrooms with separate showers! On deck, she offers the comfort and friendliness of a large open cockpit and twin helm stations, offering both real steering sensations and direct contact with the rest of the crew. This is the synthesis of the Excess spirit: a beautiful, simple, light and comfortable boat!

ELBA 45 NEW The replacement for the Helia 44 was launched back in June and is nestled between the Astrea 42 and the Saona 47. The Elba 45 incorporates the essentials of the new FoutaineRacoupeau generation and in particular the semiflybridge helm station with sail handling console. This arrangement is practical and ergonomic for use shorthanded (and even more so when solo). The interior design is convincing, the light and ventilation welldesigned, the clever volumes…as for the silhouette, it’s in the moment, so what more could you ask for? The 45, from a technical point of view, is also innovative with the form of the after end of the hulls helping reduce pitching movements. The revisited interior gives pride of place to daily life on board.

DRAGONFLY 40 WORLD PREMIERE AFLOAT For the first time in the world, the Dragonfly 40 will be exhibited at the 2020 International Multihull Show. This new folding trimaran designed by Jens Quorning will become the flagship of the fleet (replacing the DF12 whose production ended some years ago now). The program assumed by the architect and builder is offshore cruising, with emphasis on ease of handling, high average speeds and optimized storage in the water or ashore, anywhere in the world. The twin wheel steering systems are excellent. The Danish shipyard can always be relied on for developments worthy of its reputation. Their new style favors the use of fastgrowing wood (just as beautiful, by the way) in contrast to species to be protected such as teak.

LEOPARD 45 EUROPEAN PREMIERE With their 45, Robertson and Caine are offering an attractive catamaran: this model will satisfy the expectations of charterers or owners who are sensitive to the concept of open spaces. The forward cockpit, accessible from inside, has become emblematic of the Leopard range: a definite asset for hedonistic sailors – and for all a must at anchor to enjoy life on board. The front door is also an excellent way to ventilate the saloon in the tropical sun.

LAGOON 46 Seen for the first time afloat during the last edition, this 46ft catamaran come back to the show for the greatest delight of visitors. After the 39 and the 52, then the 42, 40 and 50, the Lagoon 46 again uses the aft positioned rig, which has shown its advantages and its potential. A boat which appeals through its volumes and accommodation, but one which also offers performance under sail and versatility which will appeal to family crews, cruising on the oceans…

LEOPARD 53 PC EUROPEAN PREMIERE This new model replaces the Leopard 51 PC launched back in 2013. The 53 PC features real motoryacht lines, with a solid foredeck, pronounced topsides and an impressivelysized flybridge. A very clear effort has been made in terms of design: the coachroof is visually lighter than on previous models. Inside, moving around is easy: a wide central passage connects the aft cockpit to the foredeck saloon – accessible thanks to the famous front door, dear to Leopard. Outside, there’s no shortage of space for relaxation, and access to the sea and the dinghy has been given priority.

MARSAUDON TS5 The TS5 is design like the TS42’s big brother. The essence and style remain. Easy to manoeuvre, handle and maintain, light and performant, the TS5 offers unique sailing sensations on a catamaran. The platform offers a very generous living space. A catamaran designed for offshore cruising combining performance and comfort.

MY 44 This is the largest Fountaine Pajot in the Motor Yacht range (not counting the forthcoming 67ft model based on the Alegria). The MY 44 represents the quintessence of the yard’s knowhow in terms of comfort and seakeeping qualities on two hulls. Thanks to its top speed, cruising speed range and premium comfort, the MY 44 was an immediate success. By offering a particularly attractive owner’s hull, much more space than on a monohull, and incomparable stability – whether under way or at anchor – the concept is sure to appeal to all motorboat lovers!

OUTREMER 51 Discovered at the last edition, the new version of Outremer Yachting’s bestseller has developed in both looks and details. With its outer hull drawn by Patrick Le Quément and its inverted bows, the lines more than ever reflect the degree of performance delivered. Inside, the chart table and galley gain in ergonomics and volume. All the woodwork and finishing has gone upmarket. Available with 3 or 4 cabins, this boat is just as reassuring going around the world with the family, as it is exhilarating when racing around the cans with friends. With this makeover, the 51 is more than ever in harmony with Outremer’s DNA.

NEEL 65 EVOLUTION On this flagship model, the concept created by Eric Bruneel takes on a new dimension. Beyond the revealing presence of the flybridge, the cockpit/saloon platform space is simply enormous! On one level: galley, saloon, indoor living room, outdoor lounge, chart table / watchkeeping station, and... an owner’s suite with sea views! A guest cabin sits in each hull and two in the center hull. Each cabin has its own bathroom, but also perfect privacy. Darnet Design’s interior is helping to raise this new model to an even higher level of upscale yachting.

PRIVILEGE 510 SIGNATURE This model is the successor to Privilège series 5. The helm station has been raised to offer perfect vision out over the water (halyards and sheets have been centralised in the helm station to make sailing more comfortable and easier). The openings in the saloon (windows and portholes) have been made bigger to guarantee the best possible sea view, while protecting the interior of the saloon. The highest standard of fitted galley. The nav console is ideally positioned allowing a lot of open space in the saloon.

SEAWIND 1260 EUROPEAN PREMIERE The 1260, in the Seawind range, is clearly oriented towards cruising. There’s a choice of different layouts: galley down, in the passageway, or more traditionally, in the saloon. The 1260 can be delivered with three or four double cabins. Another specific feature of the Seawind is the famous door separating the saloon and cockpit – a system that already existed on the yard’s 1160 – that can be retracted into the top of the coachroof, thereby freeing up a giant living space, when at anchor or when under way in the weather.

SILENT 55 The Silent 55 is the bestselling 16.7meter innovative solar electric catamaran from Austrian shipyard SilentYachts. Among other features, the Silent 55 has a pair of 250 kW emotors, 210 kWh battery capacity and 30 highefficiency solar panels rated for approximately 10 kilowattpeak for silent cruising. The systems require minimal maintenance and produce no fumes or noise. Also, the shipyard will present the new Silent 60 model, which is an evolution of the Silent 55.

SUNREEF 50 SAILING Sunreef are the ultimate specialists in tailormade luxury on two hulls. The allnew 50 offers all the benefits of her elders in just 15.20 m (50’). The forward cockpit is accessible from the saloon via a large watertight door. As for the aft cockpit, it is transformed into a vast terrace equipped with a hydraulic platform for swimming or for the dinghy. The flybridge is considerable for this size of boat. The interior style is obviously customizable to the customer’s taste. All this obviously comes at a price and a weight… but what a luxury!

SLYDER 49 The project took time, but the results are convincing. The discovery and testing of the latest Slyder 49 now made in China at the last International Multihull Show was an excellent surprise. This catamaran is elegant on the water, the interior style and build quality are to be commended, the deck layout is remarkable for its efficiency and excellent performance. Peak speed is not listed in the specifications, yet the daily averages, comfort at sea and the overall balance of the carbon/vinylester/foam composite is probably not unrelated to this result.

LICIA C24 Licia C24 Explorer Power Catamaran, a project to not be missed! When the catamaran becomes Superyacht… The concept of the Licia C24 Explorer came from the idea of integrating the very best of superyachts in a 24 meters power catamaran, with a great autonomy for blue water cruising. Pedro EGEA, at the origin of this project, has been surrounded by the greater references for designing this explorer yacht. In this way, the design has been signed by Licia Yachts, the interior design by Darnet Design and the naval architecture by Notilus Design.
