An Affiliate of the Arizona Quilters Guild
volume 18, Number 11 November 2012
~ HAVASU STITCHERS ~ Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Hello Members I received an e-mail from Colleen Babcock with the Az. Quilters Hall of Fame. She would like to feature one of our own for the Feature of The Month. They will post a 750 word Bio with their picture and of their art, quilts, wearable art, etc., long arm are included. You can send me an e-mail to [email protected] or let me know at the meeting on Thursday. I am excited; this is a great way we can show off our great, talented members that we have. I will send on the top 4 names and let them choose, I would not be able because I think everyone deserves to be showcased. We have Spring Frenzy at the Aquatic Center coming up on Feb.04 – 08-2013. Gail and Loretta did a demonstration on hand quilting and received a great turn out. If anyone is interested in doing this please contact me ASAP because time and dates are filling up. They are in one hour increments for demonstrations. The brochure deadline is Novem-ber 15th. Last year they had over 1000 participants and I would like to see us participate again. I would like to take this time and give the board and members a heartfelt thank you for your help and support. Without you I could not do this job. I feel very honored to be part of this great organization with its caring members who want to keep this art alive and we are growing strong. See you at the next meeting. Roberta

TRANSITION HOUSE
Ways and Means Committee
The committee is looking at ways to raise funds through our raffles. We are looking for donations of sewing goodies you are not using. How about that fabric you bought for a project you never started? Have you bought your third or fourth ruler of the same size, and really don't need them all now? If you have any unused baskets or other appropriate containers for gifts, we'd love them.
We are looking forward to a great year. Remember BUY, BUY, BUY those raffle tickets!
Thanks Anita, Bonnie, Ellie, June & Lisa
Transition House Personal size shampoos, toothpaste and
lotions are always appreciated. Drop off donations at the meeting.
Betty Campbell will thank you for your generosity.
We need volunteers for future
Friendship Coffee Social dates.

If you do sign up; make certain you bring the re-quired number. Don’t forget. Others are counting on you as one of the exchangers.
Please use the best quality of 100% cotton available. Make certain your cut is straight; not wavy or bowed.
Depending on the number that sign up; it may take as much as two yards of fabric. It is better to use all of the same fabric for your swap.
Turn them in at the beginning of the meeting to allow time to sort and then don’t forget to pick up your bag after the meeting. Listen at the meeting for the num-ber of strips.
