Big Cleaning

In this day we go to church with palms. Next we bless them. This ceremony reminds us of Jesus’ arrival to Jerusalem.

We are cleaning the houses before the Easter.

This is a big cleaning! Every place in the house must be clean!

Every member of the family does the housework: washing up, clean the windows, sweep the floor, wacuum the carpet and polish the furniture. It is a very tiring day!

In parish churches it is only one Mass throughout the day. That Mass is a rembrance the last Lord Supper. That the Christ establish ed the sacrament of Eucharist- therefore this day is very important. From this they to nights Holy Sathurday all bells are silent.

Good Friday in the Catholic Church is the commemorative day of the Passion and death of Christ on the Cross. Center Friday liturgy is solemn adoration of the Cross - Adoration of the Son of God, who gave his life for the salvation of all mankind.

In this day there isn’t Mass. But only the afternoon there is celebrated devotion during which there are sings songs about the mystery of the Cross and communion. Read are relevant excerpts from the Bible.

In Poland we paint Easter eggs before Easter. On Holy Saturday we put the eggs, some meat, some bread and some salt into a basket and take it to church.

On Easter Sunday we share the eggs and have breakfast with the whole family.

This is the day commemorating the resurrection of Jesus.Morning masses are cleared. Solemn promise to beat the bells, saying the resurrection of the Lord.

Easter Monday is a special day. People throw water on people. It’s old Easter tradition. This is very funny day ;) .
