Easter Services Radical Hospitality Next Sunday, we will welcome many visitors and extended family members to our worship services. Please consider parking on one of the side streets to allow visitors the ability to find parking easily around the church. If you are a greeter, please arrive slightly earlier than usual in anticipation of more guests.
Easter Sunrise Service at Ft. Clinch Our own Gary Hutcheson will be preaching at the 6:30AM Sunrise Service at Ft. Clinch on Easter Sunday. Bring chairs and arrive early to enjoy this local tradition.
Reception for “Snowbirds” and Seasonal Members, March 21 at the Parsonage Pastor Beth invites all of the seasonal members of our church (those who only live in the area part of the year) to a reception at the Parsonage (18 South 18th Street) on March 21st at 6:30PM. Come by to see the renovations to the Parsonage, have a bite to eat and meet with other “snowbirds”.
Newcomer Orientation
Please join us for our next orientation on Sunday April 10th at 7:00PM. This program includes a brief introduction to Methodism and congregational life at Memorial UMC, as well as a campus tour. For questions or to RSVP contact Sarah Flint at 904-261-5769 or email [email protected].
New Member Sunday Our next New Member Sunday will be on April 17th. If you are ready to join our congregation, contact the church office by April 13th at noon.
Palm Sunday Processional at 10:30AM The 9:30AM service will end at 10:15AM today so the congregation can walk down to the Court House and participate in the interfaith Palm Processional.
The Community Easter Celebration is THIS SATURDAY! Our yearly gift to the community is almost here! This event is powered by volunteers, so we need your help to make it successful. If you have not already signed up to volunteer, contact Pastor Drew to find out how you can help! There are so many different and fun volunteer jobs to choose from! Contact Pastor Drew at [email protected] or call the church office at 904-261-5769. If you have stuffed eggs to turn in, please turn them in today!
Bring Flowers for the Cross Next Sunday Snip a flower from your own garden or bring in a favorite from your Easter bouquet to add to our flower cross on Easter Sunday. The cross will be outside Maxwell Hall before the 9:30AM service.
Cookies Needed for Kairos Ministry The next Kairos Prison Ministry weekend is in April. The congregation has always been generous with donations of cookies to this ministry. Cookies can be any flavor, but due to prison rules, they must be store bought. Cookies can be delivered to the Partin Center or Maxwell Hall by April 3rd.

Palm Sunday
Over 80 youth from Memorial and around the community attended the “One Love” program in Maxwell Hall last Sunday! The presentation illuminated the warning signs of unhealthy and potentially dangerous relationships. Thank you to Marisa, Chanda Rogers and our wonderful volunteers. News to Celebrate
Please remember, there will not be dinner or classes on Wednesday night this week
due to Holy Week. Dinners and classes will resume on Wednesday, March 30th.
Maundy Thursday Cantata The Chancel Choir of MUMC, with
accompaniment from a piano, clarinet, flute and bassoon, present “In My Place”, a Maundy Thursday Cantata by Craig Courtney on Thursday, March 24th at 7:00PM in the Sanctuary. “In My Place” is a poignant musical journey following Christ to the cross. The music is a distinctive blend of original melodies and creative hymn settings. The narrative focuses on the observations of five first-hand witnesses to Christ's final hours: Judas, Peter, the thief on the cross, the Roman centurion, and a crowd member who called for Christ's death. The service will also include holy communion. Nursery provided.
Shrimp Festival is Coming Soon! Shrimp Festival weekend is April 28th – May 1st. During the week, on Thursday night, the UMW will hold their Spaghetti Dinner before the parade. Friday - Sunday, the youth will be selling their award winning shrimp quesadillas and raising money by selling parking spots (for a $10 donation) in the back parking lot. There will only be one worship service on Sunday at 10:00AM in the Sanctuary. If you would like to help the youth with quesadillas or parking, please contact Marisa at [email protected].
