Violin Method
Abstract
The main studying purpose of this research is to discuss the content of Shinozaki
Violin Method. Through this research, the researcher aims to collect related violin
teaching history, the author’s life as well as teaching conceptions of this teaching
material and to further realize the content of this teaching material. It can help the
researcher to achieve the goal of teaching-promotion.
This research applies the Content Analysis to analyze the repertoire of the
teaching material. It adopts the Kayser Method, Anna Ono’s Scale Studies and Sevcik
Shifting’s The Position and Reparatory Scale-Studies Op.8 as well as Ivan Galamian’s
Principles of Violin Playing and Teaching as reference aids. Shinozaki Violin Method
is the researching subject. The researcher classified four books of teaching material
into four chapters. Every chapter interprets the teaching content and the playing skills
in one book. After analyzing, uniting and concluding, according to the result of
research, the researcher is able to draw the conclusions as follows:
First, according to the content of researching material, the content of this
teaching material is based on teaching methods about how to teach beginners of violin
and music the violin skills and music knowledge step by step.
Second, according to the skills illustrated in the teaching material, students
practice applying left-hand fingering smoothly first, and then add the skills of holding
violin bow with the right hand.
Third, according to the teaching application of this teaching material, students
apply new skills to the songs which they have already played.
In the end, based on the conclusion of this research, the researcher offers several
concrete suggestions to future researchers for their reference.
