Summary of the objects of thecharity set out in itsgoverning document

The aim ofthe charity is to organise and support sporting, cultural andartistic after-school activities for the pupils ofMarie d'Orliac and FulhamBilingual school.

In addition to their primary aim of offering children a wide range ofactivities, Les Ateliers also offer an invaluable opportunity for children topractice and improve their linguistic skills, French or English, with nativespeakers, in a relaxed environment.

The Ateliers Trustees declare to have had regard to the guidance issuedby the Charity Commission on public benefit for all their decisions. Thereis no instance when it was decided to depart kom the guidance.

The whole year was marked by the Covid 19 pandemic and how it affectedthe schools in the UKLes Ateliers team had decided not to open registrations in July 2019 asusual as the opening date of the Ateliers was still very uncertain.

In agreement with the school headteachers, Les Ateliers waited to seehow the school was coping with the new Covid-19 restrictions/ measures.

Summary of the mainactivities undertaken for thepublic benefit in relation tothese objects (include withinthis section the statutorydeclaration that trustees havehad regard to the guidanceissued by the CharityCommission on publicbenefit)

Summary of the mainachievements of the charityduring the year

The school reopened in September with a Bubble system and staggereddrop off and pick up times.

Les Ateliers sent a survey to parents to see if demand was there beforeorganising dubs.

Following receipt of the survey replies, Les Ateliers organisedregistrations for a First term starting after half-term on November 2"~ forseven weeks.

Les Ateliers had to completely overhaul its usual schedule to offer clubsthat were bubble specific. All exterior supervisors' clubs were cancelled: no football, no judo, noguitar, no kickboxing for the whole year. We also had to cancel Cookingand singing dubs.

The Morning Garderie service could not be offered as it was impossible toorganise without mixing bubbles.

Les Ateliers also followed the school's staggered exit times and circulationplan:

BubbleS 1, 2 8c 7Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Atehers finish at 4.15p.m.Wednesday, Ateliers finish at a:2o p.m.

~ bubble 2 —enter gate Band exit Gate B / following one-waysystem

~ bubble 7 —enter gate C and exit Gate C / parents do not enter theschool, the supervisor releases the children out one by one.

~ bubble 1-enter gate D and exit Gate D / following one-waysystem

Bubbles 3 8c 4Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Ateliers finish at 4.30 p.m.

Wednesday, Ateliers finish at 2:35p.m.

~ bubble 3 —enter gate Band exit Gate B / following one-waysystem

~ bubble 4 —enter gate D and exit Gate D / following one-waysystem

Bubbles 5 8r. 6Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Ateliers finish at 4:45p.m.

~ bubble 5 —enter gate B and exit Gate B / following one-waysystem

~ bubble 6 —enter gate D and exit Gate D / following one-waysystem

To organise the schedule, we relied on the responses to the survey we sentto parents. Unfortunately, the number of firm decisions was much lowerthan the intentions expressed in the survey. We had 812 definite placerequests for the whole week and 462 seats were sold. On Wednesday wehad i7o certain requests and, in the end, only 7i registered.

As a result, we had to cancel 27 ateliers for which we had too few childrenregistered.

We were aware that these registrations were of an experimental natureand that many families had already managed to organise childcare orextra-curricular activities in structures outside the school sinceSeptember.Rather than opting for a single daily daycare-type offer, we have tried tooffer a varied and balanced schedule that is more attractive and more inline with each person's specific skills.

We knowingly kept an offer open even though we were loosing money. The arguments were twofold: first to finaHy offer after-school clubs aftersuch a long hiatus for the families who relied on it; second the possibilityto rely albeit temporarily on cash reserves.

We had to seriously think about the changes necessaiy for the 2nd term, hoping for a retuim to a better context very quickly.

Registrations for Term 2 followed the same principle ofbubble-basedclubs.The take up was a little better than for term i but with still many clubsfailing to reach a quorum and having to be cancelled.

In January 2o2i when term 2 was supposed to start, the UK governmentannounced a second lockdown and school were closed.

Les Ateliers informed aH registered parents that the term was postponed, and it started indeed with schools re-opening on March 8a' 2o2i.Therefore the u weeks of term started then and ran until June.

We created a short third term ofAteliers to cover the last two weeks ofterm. Registered famiTies could choose to be automatically re-enroHed,and we opened registrations for the remaining spaces.

A articular effort focused on kee in the rice of the clubs at an

alfordable level for aIL Furthermore, all students receiving scholarshipskom the French government continue to be offered one kee activity aweek

The Ateliers also managed to sponsor the very popular Father Christmasvisit in every class. This year each class got a gift from Santa kom a wishlist submitted by each teacher. A year 6 Teacher dressed up as FatherChristmas and surprised children in every classroom with a fun butsocial -distanced visit and a distribution ofgifts with the help of theAteliers' administrators.

~Covid r we amended onr Poliees and Pmeednres to inelnde new Covid-19 restrictions/ measures in accordance with the school polices.

Webgit~The school closure meant we dedicated a lot of time to the websiteimprovements.

Ironing out some recuring problems and adding the contracts andemergency contact details online for supervisors.

AMJ has continued developing these improvements as well as fine tuningmany aspects of the general operation.

AccountsVJS Accountancy Services Ltd is stiH in charge of collating and filing LesAteliers accounts. The administrators use Xero accountancy cloudsystem.

For 2'-2on. , the Hqmdity reserves have been essential to the survival ofLes Ateliers has we lostsigaiEcant amounts (-26K for the year).

Les Ateliers registrations for the &st term ofmom-mom toe%place in July as per yze-pandemic format witha schedule including external suyevrisor and dubs anoss levels.

To compensate for the huge loss ofthis year we envisage a small augmentation of ehib fares from Kyoto to88 and Zxogo to Ru.so for Wahmsdays.
