The Rectory Office is now open. Face masks are

Baptism: Until further notice, Baptisms are celebrated as Private Baptisms with a single child/ family being baptized at a time. Baptisms are scheduled on
Saturdays, Sundays and weekdays when the Church is available. Please call the rectory at (516) 249-0127 to arrange for an interview with a deacon or priest to make Baptism arrangements. Please go to the parish website at www.stkilian.com for additional information on the Sacrament of Baptism.
Reconciliation: Confessions are heard in the church on Mondays, 1:00-1:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 4:00- 4:45 p.m.; and in the rectory by appointment. Confessions are not heard
on Mondays that are Holy Days or public holidays. Confessions in Spanish by appointment. Please call the rectory at (516)249-0127.
Matrimony: Marriage arrangements should be made with a deacon or priest at least six months before the proposed wedding date. No dates for marriage will be given over the
phone. Note: The interview to schedule the marriage date at St. Kilian should be completed before commitments are made with a catering hall. Additional information is available on the parish website: www.stkilian.com.
Anointing of the Sick: The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick may be received by any Catholic who is preparing for surgery, or is of advanced age, or is seriously ill. The sacrament is
the Church’s prayer for health and healing and should not be delayed until there is danger of death. Please call the rectory to speak with a priest. Also, to arrange for Communion to be brought to the homebound, please call the rectory to have a priest visit. After the priest visits, arrangements can be made for a Eucharistic Minister to regularly bring communion to the homebound.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults RCIA (Becoming A Catholic): Anyone who is inquiring about becoming a Catholic, and who has not been baptized, or who has been baptized
in another Christian community is invited to inquire into the RCIA. Please call the rectory for information at (516) 249-0127.

Blessing of the Animals
On the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi recently, Msgr. Rowan, Fr. George and Deacon Bill offered a Pet Blessing for our parish
pets on the Church lawn. As everyone gathered around the Statue of our Blessed Mother, it was a beautiful fall day and a beautiful way to show our four legged friends how much we love them!

Outreach is our parish community’s response to the Gospel call to help those in need. We serve anyone who lives within our parish boundaries regardless of religion,
race or ethnicity.
We are located at 140 Elizabeth Street but our main entrance is in the parking lot facing Conklin Street. OUR FOOD PANTRY IS OPEN TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS from 9AM-NOON.
If you need food assistance but are unable to come on Tuesday or Friday from 9am-noon, give us a call and we will make other arrangements for you.

Did you know that we receive bread from Stew Leonard’s – free of charge every week- for our pantry clients? We are very grateful to Stew’s for their generosity, and for our amazing volunteers who deliver the goods to us early
in the morning! Stew’s Bread makes everyone smile! PS- We often receive calls from good-hearted parishioners who wish to
connect us to other sources. We receive plenty from Stew’s and do not need any more bread, bagels, rolls, cakes or pies. We are blessed!

The St. Kilian Social Justice Committee is sharing the importance of political engagement ahead of the 2020 election.

OUR LADY OF FATIMA
The second Sunday in October of 1920 was a bright, beautiful day. A Parade was held through the streets of Farmingdale to celebrate the inauguration of the new, “St. Kilian Council, #2204” of the Knights of Columbus.
The parade was led by the boy’s band of the Nazareth Trade School (under the tutelage of Fr. Joseph) and followed by the men of the new Council. A banquet, (prepared by Sisters of St. Dominic) was served to over
150 people. This year, 2020, the Council is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. Because of COVID-19 Pandemic, we will not be having a parade, a big
celebration or a banquet, but, the same spirit is here and we are still here standing firmly, helping our Priests, our Parish and supporting our Catholic ideals. We pray that the Pandemic ends soon
and we can resume our charitable activities and support our Parish. In the meantime, if you are a practical Catholic man, 18 year or older, we invite you to join your
neighbors and become a Knight.

Nueva encíclica: Fratelli tutti "No hay libertad sin fraternidad
que incluya a todos”
El Papa firmó el 3 de octubre en la ciu-dad de Asís su nueva encíclica, dedicada a la fraternidad. Es la primera salida en siete
meses por la pandemia.
El arzobispo José H. Gómez de Los Ángeles, presidente de la Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de Estados Unidos celebra la nueva encíclica del Papa Francisco, Fratelli Tutti: la Fraternidad y la Amistad Social. La enseñanza del Papa Francisco aquí es profunda y hermosa: Dios nuestro Padre ha creado a cada ser humano con igual santidad y dignidad, iguales derechos y deberes, y nuestro Creador nos llama a formar una sola familia humana en la que todos vivamos como hermanos y hermanas.
El plan de Dios para la humanidad, nos recuerda el Papa, tiene implicaciones para todos los aspectos de nuestras vidas, desde cómo nos tratamos los unos a los otros en nuestras relaciones person-ales, hasta cómo organizamos y operamos nues-tras sociedades y economías.
Al analizar las condiciones en el mundo actual, el Santo Padre nos aporta una visión poderosa y urgente para la renovación moral de la política y las instituciones políticas y económicas desde un nivel local hasta un nivel global, llamándonos a construir un futuro común que realmente sirva para el bienestar de los seres humanos.
Para la Iglesia, el Papa nos desafía a superar el
individualismo en nuestra cultura y a servir a nuestro prójimo con amor, viendo a Jesucristo en cada persona y buscando una sociedad de justicia y misericordia, compasión y preocupación mutua.
