Ma Chambre
In today’s lesson we are learning vocabulary for
furniture and items in the house. We will be using these
with adjectives and prepositions to describe a photo.

Tasks 1-6 = 35 minutes Task 7 = 25 minutes
1. Label the pictures with the correct word in French and English
2. Draw a table with 2 columns for two rooms in a house. List 3 or 4 things you would find in each room.
3. Read about prepositions. Read the descriptions and work out which room the dog is in.
4. Fill in the gaps to describe where the cat and dog are. Extension = choose 4 more pictures and write a
sentence to describe where the dog/cat is.
5. Reading – which picture matches each description. Click the screen to check your answers.
6. Choose the correct adjective or preposition from the options to make a correct sentence.
7. Writing Task. EMAIL your paragraph to your teacher for marking. Choose one of the photos and write a
paragraph to describe it – check the success criteria so you know what to include. Only use vocabulary and
phrases from this week’s and last week’s lessons.

Look at the table to revise how adjectives change – they ‘agree’ with the noun they are describing eg if you are describing a chair (une chaise)it is feminine – choose the correct ending for the adjective. Examples below.
Adjectives and prepositions in a sentence
Describe the items and where they are in the room. Choose the correct adjective and preposition from the options.
Choose the correct option for these sentences;
1. Il y a une chaise violet/violette sous le /à côté dubureau.
2. Il y a un ordinateur blanc/blanche sur/sous la table.
3. Le grand/grande fauteuil poire est rouge.

You can use two ways of describing where something is;
La lampe est sur le bureau. = the lamp is on the desk.
Il y a une lampe sur le bureau. = there is a lamp on the desk
Write a paragraph to describe one of these photos. Only use vocabulary from the lessons this week and last week. Do not use translate tools.
