About the project BABET-REAL5

The BABET-REAL5 project - New technology and strategy for a large and sustainable

deployment of second generation biofuel in rural areas - aims at developing an alternative

solution for the production of 2G ethanol, competitive at smaller industrial scale and therefore

applicable to a large amount of countries, rural areas and feedstocks. The target is to reach

technical, environmental and economical viabilities in production units processing at least

30,000 tons equivalent dry biomass per year. The project will investigate and select business

cases for installations of demonstration/first-of-a-kind small-scale industrial plants in different

European and Latin American countries. Further information about the project and the

partners involved are available underwww.babet-real5.eu.

1 Design guidelines for BABET-REAL5

The background for the implementation of a project design guideline is to give the respective project a unique and distinctive look and to facilitate dissemination activities.

For the BABET-REAL5 Project therefore a corporate appearance was developed, consisting of a project logo as well as Word and Powerpoint templates which have to be used for all BABET-REAL5 related publications. Moreover a project website has been developed (D6.2) which follows the same design principles.

All generated documents and presentations have to be named according to the defined

naming scheme:

1.1 Logo

The BABET-REAL5 Project aims at the sustainable exploitation of biomass feedstock for the

production of bioethanol with feedstock being available at a smaller scale than for the

bioethanol production mostly realised until today.

In order to express the project’s goal the consortium member’s agreed on the use of a logo

showing the project name framing a drop of bioethanol surrounded by three leaves which

stand for the sustainable approach of the BABET-REAL5 Project towards the production of

an environmentally generated fuel.

Figure 1: the BABET-REAL5 main Logo

The surrounding letters are written in the Arial font and form the project name.

The logo consists of three colours:

• green dark

rgb = 0 / 138 / 46

cmyk = 85 / 10 / 100 / 10

web = #009933

• green light

rgb = 151 / 191 / 13

cmyk = 50 / 0 / 100 / 0

web = #99cc00

• blue

rgb = 213 / 233 / 239

cmyk = 20 / 2 / 100 / 0

web = #ccffff

1.2 Word template

All the documents must be written in British English. The settings in the writing programme

(presumably MS Word) must be set accordingly.

Any document which is rated CO (confidential) for the dissemination level should be edited

with “CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENT” in the top header centre.

The word template (see Annex I) follows the colour scheme of the logo and shall appear in a

classical, clear and concise structure. Therefore typeface Arial, which is a contemporary

sans serif design and can be used for headlines and running text equally, was chosen.

Another reason for the choice of the Arial font is the fact that it is available at most of the

computers.

As can be seen in this D6.1 the headlines in the Word template use one of the logo colours:

• green dark

rgb = 0 / 138 / 46

cmyk = 85 / 10 / 100 / 10

web = #009933

The following font sizes shall be used in the project documents:

• Heading 1: Arial, Font size 14 – bold

• Heading 2: Arial, Font size 13 – bold

• Heading 3: Arial, Font size 12 – bold

• Text content: Arial, Font size 11

• Figures and Tables: Arial, Font size: 10

1.3 Powerpoint templates

For the purpose of presentations at conferences or other events furthermore a Powerpoint

template was created using also the colour scheme of the BABET-REAL5 Logo:

If the presentation is rated CO (confidential) for the dissemination level the confidential

Powerpoint template (please see Annex III) has to be used.
