VISION
The Graduate of Physiotherapy Programme should acquire
adequate knowledge of the basic medical subjects and to
develop skills and techniques in diagnosis with proper attitude
for compassion and concern for the individuals and welfare of
the community by demonstrating skills in physiotherapy
management and research.
MISSION
The Undergraduate course in physiotherapy aims to impart in
depth knowledge and skill to a student in basis of
Physiotherapy to make him competent enough for various
physical diagnosis techniques required for clinical reasoning
and carry out physiotherapy treatment with evidence based
practice and professional ethics.

RULES & REGULATIONS GENERAL
1. Ragging is a punishable offence and those indulge in it or
encourage it shall be dealt with in accordance with the
directions issued by the U.G.C. vide its LV No. F.1-
16/2007(CPP-II) Dt. 11-7-2009
2. Education tours and excursions are to be organized with the
permission of the Vice-Chancellor / Registrar/ Principal. The
parents will be informed of the date, place of visit, route, the
amount to be contributed. For all such programs written
permission of the parents is required.
3. Students are required to maintain the highest standards of
behavior and discipline both inside and outside the college. 4. Usage of mobile phones inside the college is strictly
prohibited. If found so, the mobile will be seized and handed
over to the principal/class coordinator without enquiry
subjected to fine. 5. Every student is provided with a cumulative record and an
identity card which should be brought to the college on all
days.
6. Without the permission of the university / principal, students
shall not organize any activity or associate themselves with
any group not connected with the college.

7. Participation in political agitation or demonstrations or strike of
any kind is strictly prohibited. Students indulging in such
activities will be summarily dismissed. 8. Malpractice by the students during the University Examination
shall be dealt with as per the provisions of the University
regulations in this regard. ATTENDANCE
1. Prior permission from the class co-coordinator, clinical in
charge and Principal should be obtained for any leave. 2. In case of absence of students from hostel, they should obtain
prior permission from Principal & Warden. 3. Day scholars have to submit their leave letters with signature
of parent/guardian 4. No students are allowed to stay outside the college premises
except with their parents/parents authorized guardians. 5. Attendance is taken every hour after the commencement of
the class. Student found to be absent without prior permission
will be punished.
6. A candidate is required to attend a minimum of 80 percent of
the total classes conducted in a semester in all subjects
prescribed for that semester, separately, in theory, practical
and clinical to become eligible to appear for the university
examination in the first attempt.

EXAMINATIONS
A candidate shall not be admitted to appear for the
university examination unless the principal certify that his/her
attendance and progress have been satisfactory during the year. INTERNAL ASSESSMENT
It shall be based on evaluation of periodic tests
assignments, log book maintenance; record book and clinical
presentations whichever applicable for that semester. Regular
periodic examinations should be conducted throughout the
course. There should be a minimum of three (3) session
examinations during each semester. The average of the three
examination marks should be reduced to 30 for theory, 10 for log
book, 5 for attendance and 5 for assignments/seminars
collectively calculated for 50 as internal and sent to the University
before the University examination as per notification. Proper
record which forms the basis of the Internal Assessment will be
maintained for all students and should be available for scrutiny.
Continuous Internal Assessment: A candidate shall secure a minimum of 35% marks in the Internal
Assessment (separately for Theory and Practical wherever
applicable) to become eligible to appear for the University written
examination. If the student fails to secure the minimum required
marks in the I.A. he will be detained from appearing for the
University examination in the subject concerned.
1. However, such candidate shall be permitted to go to the
next semester with the condition that he should improve
and obtain a minimum of 35% of marks in I.A. in the
subject(s) in which he was detained and qualify himself to appear for the subsequent University Examination as an

arrear subject(s) along with the subjects of the current
semester.
2. If the candidate did not improve the I.A. and qualify
himself for writing the examination in the said subject(s)
as an arrear paper within the said period will not be
permitted to write the entire examination of the current
semester till he secures the minimum of 35 % of marks in
the subject in which he was detained and not allowed to
go to the next semester. On fulfillment of the required I.A.
he will appear for the University Examination and will join
the subsequent semester during the next academic year
when it is offered by the college.
3. Similarly the candidate who secured minimum 35% of
marks and appeared for the University examination and
could not pass the examination for want of securing 50 %
marks in aggregate (both written examination and I.A. put
together) shall also be permitted one semester time to
improve the I.A. to make up the required 50% aggregate
marks to pass the subject/examination and reappear for
the University examination. However, the students
detained under break of study are not eligible to avail this
provision during the period of break.
4. The faculty member shall ensure and provide opportunity
to students to improve the I.A. within the permitted one
semester.

Rules and Regulations for Clinical Postings Saveetha Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre (SPARC) 1. Students are supposed to report to clinic on time 2. No student shall enter or leave the clinic without permission of
clinical in-charge 3. Students are required to maintain the highest standards of
behavior and discipline inside the clinics. 4. Students shall strictly observe the rules framed by the college
or which may be framed from time to time. 5. Students must bring ID card, log book and assessment tools
while attending clinics. If students are found without these
articles they will be subjected to punishment. 6. Irregularity in attendance, indifference in regard to clinical
work, test, assessment submission, discourtesy towards
clinical staff, insubordination, obscenity in words and, willful
damage to clinical equipment's, antisocial activities are liable
for disciplinary action. 7. Students should not be found loitering in corridors or out of
clinics during clinical hours. 8. Students are not supposed to sit in the clinic while treating
patients and not allowed to sit on treatment couches or table
and if found the student is liable to severe punishment. 9. Students are not allowed to directly treat any patient without
the consent and directions of the clinical staffs. 10. Students have to submit their assessment & follow up to the
concerned staff weekly. 11. Students should hand over the cases during shift of postings
& during leave. 12. Whatever materials students use for treatment must be
