2017-18

D.A.V. College for girls,Yamuna Nagar held its Annual Alumni

Meet on April 13th

,2018.The Chief Guest for the occasion was

Mrs. Nisha Rao,an ex-student & now a famous Fashion-

Designer–cum-Yoga-Guru of the twin cities of Yamuna Nagar –

Jagadhri. The Guest of Honour for the occasion was Smt. Jyoti

Bharti ,a teacher, in Sacred Heart Convent School,Jagadhri.

After the formal welcome of the Chief Guest with rolli tikka and

sprinkling of flowers, each of them was escorted into the

auditorium by the students & teachers. With the lighting of the

lamp, the officiating Principal Dr. Mrs. Vibha Gupta was

requested to welcome the alumni by Dr. Mrs. Vishav Prabha,

the stage organizer of the day. Many alumni members were

accompanied by their spouses & children too.The officiating

Principal shared her views on the various aspects and progress

of the college right from its inception till date.

The programme, keeping in tune with the previous years

function,had a variety of games, quiz and sharing of golden

moments by the alumni. There was laughter and cheer all

around when many of the members of the alumni shared their

experiences. Some of them got emotional while sharing their

experiences and going down the memory lane. A very vibrant

and interactive alumni participated whole heartedly to make

the function a grand success. The programme concluded with

lunch hosted in the college restaurant with promises to join

such meets in the future also.

2016-17

The Annual Alumni Meet of D.A.V College for Girls was held on

Feb 2nd

,2017 with great zeal and fervour.

The Final year students of the college volunteered to organize

the programme for their seniors and super-seniors. After

welcoming the alumni, the programme started formally with

the lighting of the Lamp by the Chief Guest Mrs. Poonam Bakshi

and Principal Dr. Sushma Arya . After welcoming the guests, the

Principal Dr. Sushma Arya, also shared the many trails and

travails to bring the College to the present level of one of the

Best Women’s College of Kurukshetra University,Kurukshetra.

The programme highlight was the presentation of cultural

programme with a lively and vigorous performance of the

Bhangra with pulsating rhythm and beat of the Dhol. In

between the cultural items, the programme had many games,

quiz for the enthusiastic guests of the meet. The programme

also had a performance of the traditional Haryanvi folk dance

with their colourful & swirling ghagras & rustic jewellery. The

Cultural evening concluded with a mesmerizing choreography

by the winners of the college cultural team of the Youth

Festival, 2017.

The programme concluded with an engaging and witty speech

by the Chief Guest Mrs. Poonam Bakshi. An occasion where the

alumni go down their memory lane, share their experiences

concluded with heavy tea organized in the college ground.

2015-16

The Alumni association of D.A.V College for Girls, emboldened

by its first experience organized its second Alumni Meet on

April 23rd

,2016 with panache and elan. The alumni after being

served with welcome drinks & snacks were escorted to the

auditorium and welcomed with showering of rose petals,

sweets and rolli tikka.

The Chief Guest for the meet was Smt. Mridula Malik ,Yamuna

Nagar and Guest of Honour Smt. Suraj Ghai. Keeping with the

tradition,the programme commenced with the lighting of lamp.

The Principal of the college,Dr. Sushma Arya,welcomed the

guests and shared the progress of the college including the new

infrastructural developments in the campus & hostel.The

objective of the meet was to interact with the alumni and

coordinate their activities for development and sustainability.

The guests were entertained with games,quiz,and music, dance

which was both stimulating and enjoyable. Many shared their

experiences ,while many gave their views, new ideas, insights

to help in the future progress of their Alma Mater.

The alumni expressed their sincere gratitude with promise to

support and make this event a grand success in the future too.

The meet concluded with lunch at the college restaurant.

2014-15

D.A.V College for Girls,Yamuna Nagar organized its first alumni

meet on April 24th

,2015 and it was attended by 137 alumni and

a few of them were students who had graduated as far back as

the 1970’s besides graduates of 1990’s & 2000 onwards. Many

of them were visiting their alma mater for the first time since

their graduation and were thrilled to be in an absolutely

changed, modern and improved campus of the college. Our

chief guest on the occasion was Smt. Promila Syal,75 yrs old , a

retd. govt. servant,Yamunanagar and guest of honour was Smt.

Sanyukta Oberoi,73 yrs old,housewife.

The Alumni were welcomed with rolli tikka,arti,sweets and

showering of rose petals.The programme started with the

traditional lighting of the lamp. The Principal of the College,Dr.

Sushma Arya while welcoming the alumni also apprise them of

the progress and achievements of the college and its future

plans. The programme started with fun games such as musical

quiz, passing the parcel,musical chair,tailing the donkey etc.

which thrilled the gathering and brought laughter and cheer.

Many of them shared their experiences of yester years with

tears of joy to mention a few about teachers, rules, strictness,

library, the small canteen and discipline.

The programme could go on eternity as it seemed but as all

good things come to end, the meet concluded with lunch and

promises to revisit and to spread the message amongst all who

were enable to make it.
