NEW FEATURES FOR 2004

Chrysler Pacifica incorporates stringent quality standards, extensive safety development and one of the world’s firstthree-row side curtain air bags. This commitment to safetyand protection helped the Chrysler Pacifica earn the high-est safety ratings vehicles can receive, Five Stars for allfrontal and side impact tests from the National HighwayTraffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA).

metal and less glass communicate an armored, protectivequality to the consumer.”

Chrysler Pacifica’s rear view is distinctive with its integrat-ed black spoiler, which extends the roofline and houses a center-mounted brake light. Similar to Pacifica’s frontview, a substantial bumper offset is enhanced by chromeaccents integrated into the top corners, providing an elegant yet solid, tailored appearance.

INTERIOR DESIGN: FIRST-CLASS IN FIRST AND SECOND ROWS

“From the moment you open Chrysler Pacifica’s doors and step into the vehicle, you will feel like you are sitting in something significant,” said Designer Steve Sowinski.“The interior is clean, precise and sculpted. It fulfills thepromise of the exterior.”

The first-class experience is established immediately uponopening Pacifica’s doors and getting into the vehicle. WhileSUVs require occupants to step up into the vehicle andcars require a step-down effort, with Chrysler Pacifica it’s“step across” — just right.

The Chrysler Pacifica’s driver-oriented instrument panel is enhanced with dynamic lines, accelerating curves androbust surfaces. The ignition switch is conveniently locatedon the instrument panel, which is designed with precise,flush-fitted surfaces and features satin silver accents, completing the vehicle’s high-quality appearance.

A woodgrain accent is used on the instrument panel andcontinues on the upper door trim into the second-rowseating area. The shifter knob is leather-wrapped with achrome accent. The shifter bezel is finished in the samesilver accent as the door trim and instrument panel bezels.

The instrument cluster features an available integratednavigation system directly in the driver’s view. The tech-nology is referred to as “thin film transfer display,” whichmakes viewing the navigation information as easy as view-ing the speedometer. Navigation controls are flush, easy to reach and conveniently located on the instrument panelto the right of the cluster.

Both first- and second-row seats are chair-height, givingoccupants a strong sense of security and a command-of-the-road while providing excellent ingress and egress. Forversatility, second- and third-row seats conveniently foldflat. And for ultimate first-class travel, passengers seatedin the second row enjoy the comfort and convenience ofheated seats.

Power controls for adjustable pedals, memory controls, lumbar and thigh support are conveniently located on the

driver’s door panel. In addition, Chrysler Pacifica featuresa continuous, full-length center console complete withfirst- and second-row dual cup holders, storage area andadjustable air outlets. A flip-down, roof-mounted DVDscreen is available to rear seat occupants and a theater-style Infinity® Intermezzo™ digital surround sound audiosystem comes with eight speakers, bringing movies andmusic to life.

“Chrysler Pacifica is a unique combination of comfort, premium interior features and versatile space presented in a design statement that communicates passion for thebrand and the entire company,” said Sowinski. “When people get into Chrysler Pacifica, they will be sitting in the heart and soul of our next segment buster.”

PACIFICA SAFETY

Early in its development, the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica wasassigned the internal code name, “The Protector,” whichultimately resulted in a vehicle loaded with safety featureswhich are listed below in alphabetical order. This commit-ment to safety and protection helped Chrysler Pacificaearn the highest safety ratings vehicles can receive — FiveStars — for all frontal and side impact tests from theNational Highway Traffic and Safety Administration(NHTSA).

All-wheel Drive: Combines front-wheel and rear-wheeldrive by transferring engine power to all four wheels. Itprovides the pulling power of front-wheel drive and thepushing power of rear-wheel drive for superior traction, control and acceleration.

Body Structure: Crush beads and stiffeners engineeredinto the vehicle body help absorb the energy, while preserving the integrity of the vehicle compartment. These reinforcements provide additional protection in an offset-type impact.

Child Seat Anchor System: LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) eases installation of compatible aftermarket child seats.

Constant Force Retractors (CFR): Seat belts include a mechanical device designed to distribute the force of a seat belt according to the load or force exerted on it. CFRs are engineered to force-limit the belt system, andgradually release seat belt webbing in a controlled mannerin the event of a severe crash.

Enhanced Accident Response System: Makes it easierfor emergency personnel to identify the vehicle and reachthe occupant as the system turns on the interior lightingand unlocks the doors after air bag deployment.

Exclusive Energy-Absorbing Steering Column: Apatent-pending steering column designed with collapsiblestraps to absorb more energy, potentially reducing chestinjuries in a collision.

Front Crush Sensors: Two sensors located below theheadlamps measure the severity of the impact and relaycrash information to safety systems in the occupant compartment.

Inflatable Knee Blocker: Pacifica is the first ChryslerGroup vehicle to offer this feature. The driver-side kneeblocker inflates in conjunction with air bag deployment. It potentially increases leg protection in an impact andhelps to position the driver relative to the air bag.

Supplemental Multi-stage Air Bags: Multi-stage airbags deploy at three different rates depending on theseverity of a crash. In low-severity collisions, the air bagdeploys with less force. The force is increased in the eventof a severe collision.

Pretensioners: During a collision, seat belt pretensionerselectronically sense a severe crash and immediatelyremove slack from the seat belt, which reduces the forward movement of the occupant’s upper body.

Supplemental Side Curtain Air Bags: Chrysler Pacificais one of the first vehicles to offer side curtain air bagsthat provide coverage for all three rows of seats. Both sidecurtain air bags have their own impact sensor in order totrigger the air bag on the side where the impact occurs.

Three-point Lap/Shoulder Belt: All six seating positionshave a three-point restraint system, maximizing the effec-tiveness of the seat belt.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System: The advanced system monitors the pressure inside each tire and alertsthe driver to improper tire pressure conditions.
