A Sport for All

What is Fork Flipping?• Flipping forks into the air using a spoon as leverage• Children through adult have become master flippers• Started as a casual sport at mealtime• A centuries old sporting craft• Ready to be a breakout sport around the globe

• Requires:– Helmet (avoids fork in head)–Mask (avoids fork in eye)– Fork (known as the “flipper”)– Spoon (also called the “flippee”)

What is the Required Equipment?

• Height• Distance• Artistry• Speed Competition

Competition Divisions

• Competitor kneels at the base of the height measure• Five flips allowed• Height is measured in “fork” increments– i.e.. The Flipper (fork) flipped three forks high– In standard competition, fork height is six inches

(15.24 centimeters)

• Competed and scored in TEAMS and INDIVIDUALLY• Collective team distance is calculated• Awards are given for individual players on each team• Each player steps to the “Distance Line” and flips one

fork• Forks remain on the playing field until the end of game

• Skilled fork flippers can not only get distance and height but elevate the sport to a work of ART– Spins– Rotations– Dancing to the beat

• True fork flipping artisans have taken the sport to new levels

• Artistry is judged by the number of times the judge shouts out “WOW” when watching the competition

• Beginner & Expert competition levels• Based on the average number of flips per minute• Game play lasts 60 seconds• Played as an individual sport• Individual scores are combined to get team composite

score
